UKIP main man in plane crash.

Just to quibble with the thread title, is Farage still their 'main man'? I know he's not their leader anymore, but he seems to be their only media presence.

ETA: Also from that Grauniad page (updated since this thread was started):

1.49pm: My colleague Roger Browning has been giving Ukip candidate Nigel Farage's campaign plane some thought on Twitter:

Just a thought about Nigel Farage, you're not supposed to campaign on election day, so what was he doing up in a plane with a Ukip banner?

So, what was he doing? Is it an offence to campaign, or just a gentlemen's agreement?

My son asked the question "Why did he have to be in the plane at all?"

I suppose it was in case anyone shouted questions.

You're allowed to yomp all over the landscape with party slogans and logos and so on. My car is currently festooned with party-logo posters and has a rather cute flag attachment clipped to the top of the side window.

So he has a plane, well, good luck to him.

.... couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.... :D

AFAIK, the only place you're not allowed to campaign on election day is within the polling places.

Even there....

I went in to vote wearing my party rosette. It's agreed that voters themselves can wear rosettes. When I go back wearing my "polling agent" hat is when I have to take it off.

How ironic that it was a Polish-built aircraft that he was in at the time.
