"ugly Zionist massacre"

This just in ---- IDF commando forces are now using laser-guided ground-to-ground missiles inside gaza and pursuing terrorists from close range.

Six Hamas militants were just killed Monday in a unique Israel Defense Forces strike on a car travelling in the central Gaza Strip. It was a unique action because the missiles were not fired from the air -- they were launched at the car by IDF troops in close proximity.

HAMAS said in a statement:
"The Zionist enemy is playing with fire and they will have to shoulder the responsibility for the consequences of this crime."
The spokesman described Israel's action as an "ugly Zionist massacre."

6 Hamas terrorists liquidated.
Sounds perfectly reasonable to me.

Good riddance.

That car-load of HAMAS asshats was apparently involved in Qassem firings, yes.

The HAMAS is (in my opinion) incapable of providing accurate information; they will say anything at this point, including calling the IDF operation a "crime" and "ugly Zionist massacre" when in fact, it was an Israeli self-defense mission to stop these terrorists.

The IDF says that "no aircraft" were involved, and it was a ground force that operated to eliminate these maniacs.

The palestinians claim these guys were "good 'ol boys" just out for a little spin around town, and were really only innocents that got hit by missiles from IAF drones.

Pick your version.
End result --- 6 less terrorists.

More tragedy -- more Qassems

Apparently, according to the unfolding events, the palestinian terrorists sent more rockets flying into Israel today (including a barrage that hit a kindergarden). After firing off the Qassems, these terrorists persuaded kids to go retrieve their launchers from the fields.
IDF incoming artillery targeted at the launch sites killed two of these Palestinian children (aged 10 and 12). More woe to the gazans.

BTW, earlier Tuesday, Israeli troops eliminated three Islamic Jihad militants in southern Gaza.

A Party of One

This thread is staying strangely quiet --- the Gaza Strip is a war zone, with the number of palestinians dead rising to 13/14 in the past few days (and some media outlets carrying the false claims that these were just "civilians").
In my opinion, even those unfortunate kids were actually combatants, as they were directly assisting in terror ops.

Also on Wednesday, an action at sea, as the Israeli Navy detained eight Palestinian fishermen off the Rafah/Gaza coast after they crossed in from Egyptian waters. Four naval ships arrived at the scene accompanied by IAF helicopters. Seven of these fishing boats were destroyed by the IDF, said Palestinians.

(I've been looking at the media for reports of that planned ISM operation which was due to leave Cyprus and run the Israeli Naval blockade ----- I wonder if these "fishermen" were part of that flotilla?)

Although, we tend to disagree on many things related to Israel, Webfusion, FWIW, this is an area where we agree.

Israel, left the Gaza Strip. The Palestinian government must stop the rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip or accept the reality that Israel will and must strike against the people firing the rockets. Anybody that continences these rocket attacks is either advocating endless war or the brutal destruction of a significant portion of the Gaza Strip by Israel.

The question is do the Palestinian leaders have the courage to govern for the benefit of the population or will they continue to promote violence against Israel as a substitute for improvements in the lives of the people that live in the Gaza Strip?

Ghassan Khatib poll just released --
http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/896753.html

HAMAS support is substantially down, although the Gazans like the 'quiet' they have brought to the streets of the Strip.

Palestinians have several different "leaders" and it is hard to make grand statements across-the-board about what these men are seeking.

The palestinians have suffered the same thing, again ---

http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/899175.html
Three young Palestinian cousins were killed on Wednesday in northern Gaza when the Israel Defense Forces attacked rocket launchers aimed at southern Israel. The children were "...aiding terror groups that are doing nothing to distance the kids from these launch sites," according to a statement issued by the IDF spokesperson.

Taher Nunu, a spokesman for the Islamic militant group Hamas that rules Gaza, said the attack on the heels of the meeting between Palestinian Authority Chairmn Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on Tuesday reaffirms Israel's 'aggressive intentions.'

Notice how the Hamas spokesman claims Israel is "aggressive" when trying to stop rockets from being fired at it, but says nothing about the rocket attacks themselves. (The Israeli army said 92 rockets and 118 mortars fell in Israel over the past month).

Cry me a river, nancy boy. This is really getting tiresome.

On a given day, 50-100 Iraqis die from a suicide bomb, intersectarian violence, battles with Coalition forces and various Iraqi groups, the odd standard street crime, and more.

"Gaza is a war zone"

It's a pimple on the Middle East's ass.

All it gets is extra hype, thanks to the usual suspects who have chosen to alert the world that

"It's all about me." The Pals and Israelis can sit the f down and shut the f up for a while. You aren't that important.

More people than in your precious little war zone die on the streets of the US each day, if the FBI murder stats are to be believed.

Some 15,000 or so per year, which puts our murder rate at about 50 per day. Day in and day out, workin' that darned murder shift.

Quit your whinging. Man up.

The Israeli army said 92 rockets and 118 mortars fell in Israel over the past month
BFD.

Want to know how many mortar attacks and rocket attacks happened in Balad last month? That's one town, one place, in Iraq. One out of dozens where the fireworks displays are a feature of a given afternoon.

Yes, Iraq is worse, which means nothing else matters. Also, I bet more people die in traffic accidents than are murdered, so no one should care about murders either.

Maybe the world should devote more resources to the "less serious" issues as they may very well be easier to solve -- if a real effort was made.

Solved? Perhaps mitigated, or reduced in intensity, but "solved" is a lot to ask. I think the divorce lawyers have this term: irreconcilable differences that applies to a number of factors in this particular set of conflicting aims.

The appeal being made by Webfusion was emotive. It was like an attention whore's "look at me" plea.

Note the tone of the opening line.

The world in general (UN in particular) has had this problem in front of it since about the end of the war that established the existence of Israel, rather than its abrupt termination when the reaction of elements of the Arab world was to snuff it out as its candle was lit.

There is a whole planet full of trouble and strife. What is is Bill Maher would say?

"Get over yourself."

Get out of my thread, then. I would rather it remain quiet and have nobody comment about the tragic events in Gaza, than to be subjected to your snide comments:
"The Pals and Israelis can sit the f down and shut the f up for a while. You aren't that important."

Sez you. I wonder if you'd have this reaction if missiles and mortars were landing in your neighborhood.

Why don't you jews stop whining about having your schools mortared and get back to producing Ben Stiller movies or trying to come up with a vehicle for Sara Silverman?

Get out of my thread, then. .
No. You wanted some ruckus, you got it.

Be careful of what you wish for, Web, for you will surely get it.

By the way, it isn't "your thread" about as soon as you hit "submit post" with the OP.

Call it the tragedy of the commons, if you like, but if you go begging for trouble, you will likely get it.
