U.S.: How religious is your state?

I may have buried the lede. You claimed that religious people were not trained in the sciences. That’s not true from my perspective.

I'll still bet you that the correlation applies even in Utah. Maybe less so there. I know science educators that are religious too. They simply engage in special pleading.

I dunno. My experience is weird. I moved here from Louisiana. Very Catholic state, and went to Catholic schools. I think that was more about segregation though. I went to public school in middle school, at a nerd school. Much more diversity there. Anyway, I'd never met evangelicals 'til I moved to Oregon. I didn't realize how much hate there was outside of racism. Anti LGBTQ+ etc. However, I also never met as many pro-human rights pro-LGBTQ people in Louisiana. Mostly, I just came to find Oregon to have a weird amount of christian fascists, maybe 10%, a ◊◊◊◊ ton of spiritalusits, some standard Christians, and more atheists and agnostics than anywhere I've lived (CA, OK, VA, LA, OR, CA, OR)

I think my New Jersey must rank as extremely religious. I can't recall a day gone by without everyone suggesting that God damn something or other, and spontaneously mentioning his son's name and office, sometimes with an honorific "mother ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊" between them.
