Two dead horses (how to harness them together)

What was that old joke about trying to get several dead horses together to try and pull something?

To the average person who reads the astrology column in the daily newspaper, the statement that those “fun predictions” have some serious relationship to their health would probably be startling, if not ludicrous. To serious practitioners of the medical arts, such a statement borders on heresy! Nevertheless, a serious study on the foundations of medical practice would demonstrate that medicine developed from astrology. Astrology begat medicine (as well as most of the other modern sciences, either directly or indirectly) and in turn, medicine begat nutrition. Each of these sciences is concerned with maintaining good health, which is the principal concern of this book.

the book (yes someone wrote a book on this)

They even have pretty pictures

Hey, why not throw a Star of David in there just to rope in every possible mark - I mean customer.

Yah, and chenistry developed from alchemy but that doesn't mean alchemy is worth a crap.

Geni, I'm sure there are more than two dead horses in there. Hey, I'm a vet, I know all about dead horses! :D

There's astrology, and alchemy, and some sort of colour therapy, and homoeopathy, and is that all?

Rolfe.

Nope, you left out "gymnastics". That's Nadia Comaneci in the middle there, with her feet on top of her head...

I dunno, if it can get women into that position it's got to be good, right?

On the other hand, I do have the odd prediliction for women who's spines have not been shattered.

Weird, I know.

;)

Rolfe, add Chiropractic to your list.

I can do that.

You may consider this an official request for photographic evidence to substantiate that claim...

Totally agree, there is no way we can believe such an extraordinary claim without extraordinary evidence - say a video? :D

I am not a vet, but I also know a lot about dead horses. They stink and its not a wise idea to stop the smell by dumping gasoline and setting them on fire...:j2:

Oh, yes the topic...
Someone is making money on it. And I am not... Damn ethics.

Anedoctal evidence that accupuncture does not work-> a friend of mine hurt hi feet badly. Could barely walk and suffered a lot of pain. Went to the acupuncturist, got a few stings. " He! Look, I´m walking, it no longer hurts!". Three days later he went to an hospital for a quick surgery. Now, a week later, he is walking and feels no pain.

I'm nominating this post as anther attempt of multiple dead horse harnising.

WHEN DOCTORS FAIL and ASTROLOGERS DISAPPOINT YOU, Gems and Precious Stones come to your help.

In just one post we have homeopathy, numerology, crystal therpy and astrology.

Wow, this is rapidly attaining fame. You're the second person to point me at that post in about ten minutes.

However, I think my other informant (yes, Lost Boy, this is you....) has actually put his finger on the absolute ultimate (assuming one is allowed to nominate pretty much the entire web site). The Alternative Veterinary Medicine Centre. The list on the left reads: "Homeopathy, Acupuncture, Moxibustion, Herbs, Aromatherapy, Tissue Salts, Bach Flowers, Laser, Magnet Therapy, Chiropractic, Nutrition, Crystals, Ultra-sound, Positive Health, Holistic Medicine." All this from one single vet. OK, Lost Boy, I won't go into details of exactly which university produced this particular fruitcake, no need to intrude on private grief. ;)

Rolfe.

That alternative vet site was so funny I almost had a little accident. To quote copyrighted material from that site:

Homeopathy, in particular, gives rise to no residues of drugs in food products, nor can it give rise to antibiotic resistance, making it a particularly attractive therapy on both cost and consumer confidence grounds alone. This aspect also makes it very attractive and practical for organic enterprises. The AVMC makes a special effort to help organic farmers to develop health programmes (see ‘in-conversion’ and ‘organic farming’).

I guess if you substitute "water" for "homeopathy" you end up with the same result.

I suppose I should have guessed that he went to Fen Polytechic
