Currently, the number two trending topic on Twitter is #howgoodisGod
I generally glance at these trending topics once every day or two. I just couldn't believe this tag made it as a trending topic. Of course, curiosity demanded that I click on the bloody thing.
Predictably I find sarcastic answers, genuine answers, and people claiming to pray for things? Now I can understand praying for things. I'm guilty of it! 100% I generally pray to the lottery deity every couple of times a month! The only difference is that I pray to machine while others pray to an imaginary figure.
Here's some examples of posts.
jessetheradical astonishing that even the gov't realizes that Christian rehab programs have much higher rates of sobriety than non-Christian #howgoodisGod
twoque #howgoodisGod He will Always be there when u need Him.
dimensionofmind #howgoodisGod is probably not a subject I'll get into as I'll start ranting, not a fan of religion I'm afraid...
(I like this next one)
Greenman_11 #HowGoodIsGod God is at good as you want it to be, because it is a figment of your imagination. Look around the world with eyes open!
Jdozier1 #howgoodisgod he woke us up this morning.......
(my fav so far)
Tekavolver712 #howgoodisGod about as good as drinking a bottle of bleach
All these posts above came within three minutes (18h42 -> 18h45 MST). Unfortunately the materialistic ones are now buried under the recent posts. Anyhow, there appears to be some critical posts on there, but for the most part, it seems to be primarily praise. Normally pop culture trash shows up on these trending topics, like Michael Jackson, or <TV SHOW TITLE HERE>, or on occasion, some worldly news event ... So .. what I'm wondering, is the whole Christian religion culture degenerating to simply POP culture? Can one logically form the argument that they have aligned themselves in such a fashion, that there is no difference between this culture or any of the other consumerist cultures currently floating in North America? (note: I believe we have only one culture in N.A. and that's a consumerist one)
What does everyone here think?
