Turks worried about subversive magicians

The article implies that their reason for including magicians is more superstitious than logical but I wonder if the author missed the point - real magicians are more likely to see through bullsh!t and propaganda.
 
I suppose army people are simply pragmatic: Anybody with a leverage on public opinion is a risk factor in their book. How or why is basically irrelevant.

Yeah, but seeing through bullsh!t and propaganda doesn't make them any less likely to perpetuate it. :)
