I am usually entertained by Bill Maher's show, even though I am concerned by his bias and lack of balance, especially in his choice of guests (usually, at least one wacko, ultra-left brain-dead Hollywood type).

Last Friday's show only had two guests on the panel: Dr. Cornell West, and an ignorant rapper by the name of Mos Def. Around 6:40 into this video, Maher tries to bring up the issue of the terrorists that were recently arrested in Germany. This sets off Mos Def, who immediately starts spouting his wacky conspiracy theory nonsense. Around 8:00 into this, he really gets going. The topper is when he blurts out, "I don't even believe we ever went to the moon".

He continues in part 4. At this point, I had to leave the room.

What's most bothersome about this is not the rantings of an uneducated rapper who looks and sounds like he was just plucked off the streets of Compton. What is disturbing is that Dr. West, supposedly an educated man, basically defends him. Maher looks completely taken aback by all of this, and acts like he regrets having booked these two guests to appear on his show.

You know you are in trouble when Bill Maher represents the conservative position on this show.

That’s a shame. I quite liked some of his second album – especially “Mathematics”. “Beats by Su-Primo for all of my peoples, negroes and latinos… and even the gringos”. Oh, I felt so included.

Let me guess:

You voted for BushCheney.

You much prefer the "fair and balanced" approach taken by Fox "News".

You shouldn't have left the room because you missed the best part. During the debate over whether the hijackers did it, and Mos Def said he didn't even think we went to the moon, Mahr's response was:

"Well, I rest my case".

That guy played Ford Prefect?? :( Mos is obviously stoned. It doesn't excuse the CT, of course.

Wow, what they got wrong.

They say Bin Laden was a CIA agent who was given billions in aid.
They say Reagan sold Saddam all his WMD's.
They say Crack was engineered and distributed by the government.
They say that the Mason's keep the poor people poor.

That's one rap video that gets more wrong than the usual debasement of women and glorification of thuggery.
