I think you meant gay conversion. I don't think we need to conserve gays.

Yep. You are 100%% correct. It's all about giving corporations all the power.

Worse. The wishful thinking desperately subscribed to, by Trump and his supporters, is in order to avoid tough decisions or deal with harsh realities. Really gross, stuff-my-fat-face kind of self-idolatry. It's why I studiously avoid seeing any of the mall-shoppers Carlin describes here.

Hey, now, Trump hasn't even taken office yet, so we don't really know how he'll act as president.

just let me cling to this a little longer, okay? I've had a rough month.

That's exactly what he will do: he will ACT as president. He certainly hasn't got the skills, knowledge or inclination to BE president.

Yea, he probably needs a few years as a community organizer first. Building billion dollar businesses is not good enough. Chris B.

I'm in the same position as dasmiller. I can see all of the warning signs. It seems obvious what will happen. And yet, I keep telling myself we won't really know until he takes office and actually starts doing things.

The one thing that gives me hope is that Trump isn't an ideologue. He's not committed to any position, other than that Donald Trump is the solution to all problems. He also is relatively intelligent. Yes, I mean that. All of his deficiencies are social, not intellectual. He also has no commitment of any significance to his party. He doesn't have to go along with them in order to protect their reelection chances. He's in it for himself, completely.

Oh, and we don't really know what he even believes, because he lies with reckless abandon.

What that means is if he does decide something, he is free to act. For example, if he decides that global warming is a real thing, he isn't going to continue denying it because his pals need him to do so in order to keep their senate seats. As president, he has access to darned near anyone he wants to access for advice. Maybe....

Oh, who am I trying to kid? He already thinks he knows everything worth knowing. Why would he ask for advice?

So, yeah, probably pretty severely anti-science, but a guy can dream, can't he?

And there's always the possibility that he'll be impeached and thrown out of office, then his VP will take over and.....never mind. Uhh.....does anyone have any stock suggestions for what will flourish under four years of stupid?

And a couple of years in the US Senate, and a law degree from an IVY League university. And working as a constitutional law professor.

Yes, that would definitely help.

Losing his daddy's money doesn't really help at all.

Why would you say that? It didn't help the last guy.

You know, Zig, at some point calling this "grief" is ridiculous, especially as many of us aren't even Americans, and many are looking at this more with bemusement than despair.

It's a fact that those picks are anti-science, pro-billionaire. It's true no matter who points it out.

Is it anti-science to think that anti-environmental protection is anti-science? Might be. It's certainly illogical.
