I decided to try and get some kind of response at one of the homeopathy forums after reading about them here. I asked how remedies were tested.

As far as I know, I was not recognized as a troll, but it seems they did get bored with me. One of the posters wants me to buy a few books and educate myself. I think I would rather get in another motorcycle accident than buy/read a book on homeopathy.

I suppose in one sense (charitably!) you could look at it as Kumar coming here and asking a load of questions we think are naïve. On the other hand, note that people here have actually tried to answer Kumar, rather than (initially) telling him to go away and read a book.

You got Wim, I suppose the best example around of a complete moron with an inordinately good opinion of himself. He really is an insignificant, stupid little man, but he just loves to get on an internet thread and show off. However in this case he couldn't take the time, but had to say how knowledgeable he was anyway. Anyone really sincere would have tried to give a short summary of the answer, and then recommended a specific link, rather than just saying "Google for...." If he knows what reference he wants you to read, why not give its url directly? Google results won't stay the same from day to day. And anyone really sincere wouldn't have been so sickeningly patronising.

Really, none of them can defend what they do, so all you'll ever get is a load of waffle.

Wim is odd. His name throws up zilch on google and his posting times don't fit his location. Slightly odd that.

He also claims to be a "homoeopath for animals", but in Holland it is illegal for anyone who is not a vet to diagnose or treat an animal, as far as I can discover. And he is not a vet (he claims to be a policeman or a customs officer or something like that).

So he is either breaking the law, or lying, or not in Holland. Or any combination of the above.

I think several of them are fakes. You know, the way they are generally licking each other's lower rear part, it is a nice place for an attention whore. Just learn a little of the lingo, pretend you have some kind of practice, and you have people cooing at you. Rule out those, and you have only a handful left, most of whom are Pakistani doctors who are not true believers, but simply don't have access to real medicine.

Agreed - I tried to find him on Dutch homeopathy sites a while back. I found a couple of lists of homeopaths but no Wim (or William) Pardaan.
"Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence", maybe but if he is so wonderful you'd think there would be mention of him somewhere outside hpathy.com ....
