Yes, it would have made her seem less loopy!

Actually, it's this: John Travolta says he regrets that Anna Nicole Smith died before Scientology's drug program Narconon had the chance to get to her: "It's so sad. We could have helped her with Narconon but didn't get a chance to. I wish we had."

Better he offer her a part in a "Battlefield Earth" sequel.

Why? Does David Miscavige need a new leer jet. I'm sure they can find another moronic celebrity willing to donate millions be be "cleared."

After all, Hollywood is full of them.

Just when you thought there was enough anna nicole coverage...THINK AGAIN!

Please tell me you have link for that. I know the Scientologist celebs can be utterly tasteless and inappropriate, but please... I don't want to believ this is real.

plastic surgery, drugs and marrying rich old men for their cash, why would she give that up?! travolta...

she did what she wanted and was independent, so i suspect she would have been at least wary of scientology if invited and maybe even have seen them for what they are. maybe she did already.

But if only they had gotten there in time they could have called back her theatans and raised her from the dead.

Nice try, John, but it would take more than a little scientology to overcome the Vast conspiracy that did in poor Nicole, and is now taking aim at little Britney!

I'm somewhat through that and I have to ask: Why are they creating sex slaves? It reads almost like the projection of a celebrity sex fantasy.

Having read the whole thing I have to now say..."WHA?"

Apparently Prince Zsa Zsa was the result of experiments from Hitler's bloodline and Danielynn Smith is an attempt to create a Moonchild using a mind-controlled Anna Nicole Smith because she was a Playmate and she's like Marilyn Monroe who was also a mind-controlled sex slave and..

WHAT?

It certainly doesn't make any less sense than Scientology.
During half-time at the 2004 Superbowl, Janet Jackson exposed her nipple ring adorned breast with Justin Timberlake. The nipple ring was a sun, made of gold. This is the ancient symbols of the goddess and god. Venus and Mars, Ishtar and Marduk, Inanna and Utu, whichever you choose to call them, the attributes are the same.
AHA! I always wondered what that was all about.

Right, but how does it fit in with everything else? Did that glimpse then imprint on any watchers an affinity for such a symbol? Are they now sex slaves? What about the binder watch saline wool chapstick shot glass air book lamp paper **** sock?

Y'know...

I loved John Travolta. I really did. He was a great actor, and always a welcome face in a movie. When I found out that he was a scientologist... well, okay, it didn't affect my respect TOO much, as I found him more bearable than Tom Cruise.

But... it's getting more and more hard to respect him. Especially knowing what Scientology was like under Hubbard, how many people it's hurt, and how it's members fund it. It's just so sad.

You don't see how it all fits together? Come on. It's obvious!
It was all written by a total ****ing lunatic.

This seems as good a place to ask as any - What's so bad about Scientology? (That is, compared with other religions). It seems like the public's (and for the matter, the media's) opinion is that it is fine to hate on Scientology, but not on more mainstream religion. This is a serious question, as I really don't know all that much about it. Is it the newness of the religion? Is it the size? Is it the claims about the path to mental health (but other religions make weird claims about health - Faith Healers etc)? Is it because it is perceived as false (but presumably all religions but one (at most) are viewed as false by any particular member of the media/public. The story of the origin of Mormonism is at least as fishy, f'r instance.)? Is it because it was founded under one person's leadership (thus presumably exposing Christianity, Islam, Buddhism etc to the same scrutiny)? Maybe it's just because people dislike L Ron, and weren't around to decide whether they thought Jesus/Mohammed/Buddha were oily conmen?

I do wonder, as I've seen many, many people single Scientology out as different from other religion and thus not worthy of the respect that they believe should generally be accorded to religious beliefs. As skeptics, do the good forum members believe this is fair, or just a case of double standards?

Other religions are open to that criticism. But you can't compare Scientology directly to something like Christianity or Judaism. Christianity for example is a religious belief or philosophy or faith or whatever you want to call it. It's not a company or a monolithic organization. There are monolithic organizations that are based on Christian philosophy but then again they are fair game for insults and jokes.

People make fun of, or toss hate at televangelists all the time. It is also hardly unusual to hear jokes about pedophile priests in the Catholic church. But people don't apply the ridicule they dump on Peter Popoff or Jimmy Swaggart to the minister at the local Methodist church; because they are not part of a single organized group.

Scientology is a top down 'church' that is run, IMO, as a criminal enterprise. There is no shopping for a Scientology branch you agree with or that makes you comfortable; and they have no interest in spreading their philosophy unless they can squeeze cash out of you. If you are broke you can easily find a Christian church ( I don't first hand know about synagogues and mosques but I will assume they are probably the same in this regard) that will welcome you in their services and most of them will give you stuff.

You may notice that although every skid row has a C.I.T.A. or Goodwill mission they don't ever seem to have a Scientology branch to feed the down and out.
