Tom Delay to "write" a blog and comments that the right doesn't attack enough.

Tom DeLay is moving to reclaim his role as a conservative powerbroker by creating a new online network of grassroots activists who could nudge the Republican Party to the right and serve as a counterweight to liberal alliances such as MoveOn.org.

Nearly a year ago, DeLay, a Republican from Sugar Land, Texas, relinquished his post as House majority leader after being indicted on money-laundering charges and months later resigned from Congress. He has kept a relatively low profile since, waiting for his legal case to wind its way through the courts in Austin, Texas.

Now, he's back with a revamped Web site, a new blog and a "Grassroots Action and Information Network" that he pledges will shape politics in federal, state and local races and help Republicans reclaim their lost majority in Congress.

The catch is that Mr. Delay will not be writing the blog himself:

On Monday's edition of MSNBC's Countdown, host Keith Olbermann mocked former Congressman Tom DeLay for using "ghost bloggers" to write his blog.

[snip]

Olbermann played a clip from Hardball in which DeLay admitted that he didn't do the actual writing at his blog.

"I'm not a very good writer," DeLay said. "I have the ideas and I have somebody else put the words together."

I think the strangest part of this story is Mr. Delay's belief that the right wing doesn't attack liberals enough.

In an interview with the blog Right Wing News, DeLay characterized the comments left at his blog as an attempt to shut him down, then lamented that the right doesn't "attack" enough.

"The left does that to us and if you look at the comments made on my blog in less than 24 hours, they're going to try to shut me down by attacking me," DeLay said.

"When was the last time the Republicans or conservatives attacked the left for their outrageous comments or outrageous activities?" DeLay continued. "We don't attack. It's time to start attacking and be aggressive about what you believe and fighting for your beliefs."

It is time to start attacking?

Up is down. Black is white. The religio-conservative fantabulist myth machine rambles on.

Y'know, I think he's right. It has to have been minutes since I last heard a conservative attacking a liberal on TV, radio, or some other medium.
