TLC renews 'Long Island Medium' with Theresa Caputo

The Learning Channel just renewed 'Long Island Medium' with Theresa Caputo. The following is part of an interview where she talks about skeptics.

Too bad the interviewer didn't ask, "Where's the proof your psychic?" That seems like a better question than others he asked. Or "Why not take the JREF's $1 million challenge for your show?"

The onus on the psychic for making claim, not the person who doubts a claim without evidence.

TLC has renewed its psychic reality show Long Island Medium for a second season. The unscripted show where a New York housewife claims she can talk to the dead will get another round starting in March. The first season averaged 1.3 million viewers and its finale airs on Sunday.

EW: I’ve read you have a two-year waiting list for new clients is that true?
Caputo: That’s correct. I’m not actually booking appointments at this time.

The last person to really make a splash in this space was John Edward, who was often accused of doing cold readings. What is your response to the skeptics?

Caputo: I’ve never had the privilege to meet John Edward but he had opened the door for mediums. He has laid a beautiful path for us. I would say to skeptics, just have the experience. I had somebody say on my Twitter account, ‘You’re so full of blah blah.’ I said, ‘That’s great, I value your opinion, but why don’t we do a reading on air and then see what you think before you start passing judgement.’

This was mentioned on a different forum and I saw a clip of her doing her thing. Seems very much in same ilk as Alsion Dubois and the British one whose name Ive forgot.Even down to go into a coffee shop and giving counter staff a reading!
