. . . may I offer a piece of advice from the luser perspective.

If a guy has to wait 3 minutes for a webpage to load 1 picture (the background) just to find out that the only purpose of that page (other than looking pretty) is to have a single button labeled "Menu" hidden in a corner, then perhaps your website could use a little trimming.

basically it went like this -

go to the home page

click on the link to the instructions/directives page

wait for-freaking-ever for a page to load that basically says "APRIL 2004" then had to click a link to get to the instructions menu.

What's the purpose of this page? Apparently to turn me red with aggravation.

Remember, most intranet sites are put up because some suit read/heard from another suit/suit periodical that "they needed an intranet with firewalls".

Then they turned to an IT person who had no experience making HTML and said "bid this out".

The bids all came back and the suit said "this is WAY WAY too much money".

So then the suit had his son or cousin or somebody who had one course of computer usage or web design at community college wipe up a template site from MS FrontPage v1.

"This site is really cool dad. I built it entirely of animated GIFs and Java applettes. And everywhere I could, I changed font colors, sizes, and used the BLINK tag!"

"Great job son!" <- Says the suit that never actually visited the site.

Fast forward 3-4 years where the intranet site has NEVER been upgraded....

And you have your answer.

(And just for comedy relief... what not to name your company )

I've bought from Analtech for many years and I never gave it a thought...:D

I'm taking a class next semester that has an official abbreviation of "ANAL CHEMISTRY", so maybe it's not so odd :)

That's what everyone calls it. I just never thought of it that way...

You're in for an amusing surpise: The class title isnt an abbreviation...

Hey, I resemble that remark...

I built my companies website as my first and only one, it started with ani.gifs etc, but recently I overhauled it and turned it into DHTML and .ASPs, took the site down from just over 15meg, to 2meg including a 1.7meg database.

I must admit its much prettier and faster now, than with all that lot.
