This Man Claims By Projecting A Diffracted Laser On A Surface and Ingesting DMT, You Can See The Code Running Through Reality

Danny Goler, a filmmaker working on the documentary The Discovery, has spent the past several years talking about an experiment he believes could fundamentally change how we understand reality. His claim sounds like something taken directly from The Matrix: project specially diffracted laser light onto a surface, take DMT, look carefully into the laser speckle, and something resembling an enormous layer of code becomes visible.

Goler does not claim that anyone has translated this “code,” and in his more recent interviews he is careful to admit that nobody actually knows whether it is code or even a language. He uses the word because the phenomenon appears structured, highly detailed, and character-like. What convinced him that it deserved further investigation, he says, was not simply how strange it looked, but how stable it seemed compared with ordinary psychedelic visuals.

According to Goler, the characters appear extremely sharp, almost “super HD,” and continue behaving in the same way regardless of the person looking at them, the angle of observation, the surface onto which the laser is projected, or other changes in the environment. Unlike a conventional psychedelic hallucination, which may transform with music, attention, emotion,n or movement, he says this phenomenon seems to continue doing its own thing.

He describes the laser almost like a crack or window in reality. Rather than seeing symbols painted onto the wall, Goler says it feels as though the diffracted light allows the observer to look through a narrow opening into a deeper structure behind ordinary perception. The tiny forms appear to move, yet according to him they do not simply move with the laser beam in the way an image projected onto a wall normally would.
Keep going, it gets wackier!

It bothers me that the laser he uses is one of those crosshair level lines they sell on Amazon for $10 to hang pictures and stuff. I mean, if he can afford to have all his subjects tripping balls to collect data, can't he rig up something more scientific looking? I mean, it's not like all this if a farce so people can go tripping 'for scientific research', right?

Heeeeeeeyy.....

I've seen some code that looks like it was written on drugs, but that's probably not the same thing.
A while back I was sorting through some old boxes in my parents’ loft and uncovered a box of printouts from my MSc days - 1992 - when I was so paranoid about data loss that I kept hard copies of stuff offsite as an additional layer of backup.

Reading through some of that code, I recognised that I must really have been on some good stuff back then. Even with decent commenting in there I couldn’t follow my approach.

Anything in any context that's described as "like in the Matrix" demonstrates the imagination of the unimaginative.
I had to google DMT and was somewhat pleased to find out that our national plant (Golden Wattle) might be a natural source for it and that a rescheduling of DMT may have effectively caused our national tree to be designated as a banned plant (wiki, citation needed, disregarded. Anyway,

This here’s the wattle,
The emblem of our land.
You can stick it in a bottle,
Or you can hold it in your hand.

Amen
(crack a tube)

I too was once a teenager. Thankfully I got over it.

I don't know about DMT per se, but I've heard people talk about their Ayahuasca trips or acid trips in the same way. (As a teen I did drop acid and try mushrooms a few times. Also smoked pot more than a few times.)

Your brain works differently on certain drugs. Even alcohol. I'm sure most of us have at least had the experience of being really drunk at least a few times.

ETA: The Wikipedia article about Ayahuasca mentions that it contains DMT (dimethyltryptamine), fwiw, so I guess these are the same or similar drugs.
