When you step back from your monitor, look out the window, and realize that Cyberspace is just that...Cyber, it makes you reflect on the battle we wage here. I know some think it is making a mountain out of a mole hill when we call it that, but it is in fact, just that, a battle.
And just like battles in the real world, where men of honor often wage the fight for their side, disagreeing with the opposition, but somehow finding an honor in the captain on the far side of the front, so can I say that on occasions, I have found an honor in some of those we fight with "online".
Now, this is the part that is going to have you completely confused...who am I referring to. Well on this occasion, believe it or not, I am referring to the one whom we have often referred to as our least favorite troll, Mr. Sock himself, PDoherty76.
As many of you are aware, in the last two days I have been battling an attack on my character more than fighting over the evidence of the 9/11 attacks. This attack on my character was courtesy of The sock superstar himself, as he decided to dedicate an entire blog post to some misinterpeted comments I made to him concerning a family member of one of the 9/11 victims.
Well, after what can I can only assume was some time for reflection on what he had said, and who he had said it about (I do not think it was pressure from others, as PD seems immune to that type of thing), PDoherty, Paul Doherty, Did the HONORABLE thing, and not only apologized to me on CS Blog, but immediately deleted not only the post he made on me, but deleted his entire blog dedicated to mocking Debunkers.
In a wierd, perhaps silly way, I feel like the general on one side of a battleground, acknowledging a tip of the hat from my opponent. And so, on this rare occasion, as I am sure things will surely fall sour again and again, as they do in this war of words, I would like to tip my hat back to PDoherty, who on this occasion, did the HONORABLE THING.
There is hope for him, and them, yet...
