The world is coming to an end (again).

This time the chosen date is for the Rapture will occur on 21MAY2011 with the world ending five months later on 21OCT2011.

This is according to Harold Camping (http://www.wecanknow.com/) and his "special" numbers. Strangely there's no mention of his previous prediction for the end of life as we know it, 06SEP1994.

I wonder what his followers will do on the 22nd of May next year, mass suicide perhaps?

What is wrong with these people? Everyone knows you're supposed to name a date far out enough that you can milk your followers and then slowly change your story and start the groundwork for naming a new date. Mid-'11 is too soon assuming this is at all recent.

They'll likely be trying to re-acquire all that property they gave away or abandoned, or maybe beg to be re-instated to all the jobs they quit, or possibly try to redeem the ashes of all the money they burned as a statement of committment to their prophet, or ...

I don't know, it still seems prudent to back it off a little. That way you can be sure to die before anyone asks difficult questions. In fact, at that age I might go so far as to insist that my Holy presence is all that is staying God's angry fist and the end will come exactly forty-two minutes after my passing.
