Many of you, I am sure, have heard of Ron Wieck, a Libertarian Debator famous on the boards for his "Hardfire" video debates on 9/11 where he basically bodyslams Les Jaimeson.

Well Ron, like many of us, is becoming thoroughly disgusted with the CT wingnuts, and as a result has become a VERY ACTIVE poster over at Conspiracy Smasher Blog.

Even more entertaining, is that Ron knows quite a few people in the "Real world" and has the balls to call people and ask them what they think...here are some examples of how this has paid off in terms of trashing some of the CTers quotes etc...

The CTers will often quote the words of Mike Taylor, Head of the National Demolition Association, from this article

http://www.newscientist.com/article.ns?id=dn1281

They cherry pick a line about the fall of the towers looking like a "classic Demolition."

Well Ron decided to contact the National Association of Demolition Contractors in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

He says to ask for Laura, and find out what they think of the conspiracy liars.

another bit of Rons work:

Ron Wieck said (at CS blog):
The liars at 9-11blogger are citing Matthys Levy in support of the discredited controlled-demolition nonsense. Incredulous, I phoned Mr. Levy (author of 'Why Buildings Fall Down') and expressed my amazement that he could entertain such madness. He doesn't. He regards the conspiracy fantasists as crackpots and disavows any association with them. The next time the loons cite an authority, make sure that person is aware of what's going on.

This guy is a truely courageous man who knows his stuff, and if you watch him on the "Hardfire" videos, you will see he can debate quite well also.

Hats off to Ron.

Why does it not surprise me that Truthers would lie about some expert supporting their ideas? Is it because they've done it so often? Or is it because they've demonstrated time and time again that they have no idea of what "ethical behavior" is?

On 9/11 he knows his stuff. His politics seem a little crazy though

I'm puzzled. Is there some particular reason that you resurrected a three+ year old, single-post thread in the 9/11 conspiracy theories sub-forum just to take a shot at Ron Wieck's views on politics, more than a year after he's been gone?

Seriously.

There is a movement over in Forum Management to have his ban lifted. It may, or MAY not have some relation to that.

Hey TAM,

I cant find this blog anywhere?

Also, I dont suppose he recorded any of his phone calls? I'd like to know some details of how they have been misrepresented.

Look at the original posting date of this thread...2006. Perhaps Conspiracy Smasher Blog is now down. I dunno. I doubt Ron recorded the phone calls...not quite his MO.

I will email Ron, and let him know you are interested in this angle, and see if he is ok with you having his email, so you can converse with him directly.

TAM:)

I love Ron Wieck and he is a very sharp debater.

I loved it when Fetzer was on the program and he stated, "You've had a disastrous experience debating this with JR Dunn on the American Thinker." And Fetzer started to say that that was a judgment call and Wieck just responds with "oh ok."

For some reason that was hilarious to me.

It was a judgement call for you you mean....?

With Wieck I always had to reconcile the calm, polite host of the Hardfire shows with the impassioned and sometimes intemperate fellow who posted on this forum. I would like to see Ron reinstated if that's possible.

I have a collection of the Wieck's Hardfire programs and other videos on my blog. (Don't miss the shows on the sidebar.)

My favorite Wieck appearance is on this BBC radio show with Alex Jones... especially when the host gets fed up with Jones' filibustering and mutes him (though he's still audible shouting in the background). :D

Yes it did, thank you TAM. I thought it was kinda obvious. Oh well.

eta this is more of an appropriate place to discuss Mr. Wieck, since AFAIK, he can't read forum management threads.

you are not supposed to post the words of banned members.

I am not sure if that was aimed at me or not Parky. I am aware of the rule. The OP, if you will notice, is from 2006, and was posted before Pomeroo (Ron) was even a member here.

This isn't a "place to discuss Mr. Wieck"; it's a place to discuss 9/11 conspiracy theories. Your three-year-late bumping post did not attempt to address Ron Wieck's views on 9/11 conspiracy theories at all. Don't be disingenuous. You didn't bump this thread to discuss Ron Wieck's views on conspiracy theories. Rather, it looks like you went searching for and bumped a three year old single-post thread for the sole purpose of criticizing someone with whom you disagree politically, and someone who is no longer a member here, because you knew that he would be unable to respond.

That's what I'd call a (really crappy) cheap shot, UNLoVedRebel. I'm very disappointed with you.

Let the mods decide if the post is acceptable. Don't discuss FM issues here.

Yes I did. See.
On 9/11 he knows his stuff.

This is so wrong it's silly. Sylvia Browne can do a better job at mind-reading.
because you knew that he would be unable to respond....
Then why did he respond?

Saying someone's ideas are little crazy is hardly "a (really crappy) cheap shot." I consider it a compliment, considering some of pomeroo's blunders. (See Blender Head's sig for details)
