'The Undefeated' bombs at the box office

Naturally, my first reraction was:

:dl:

There is, of course, the chance that Ms Moosemeat will still see some money out of this fiasco when it goes to DVD and all the loyal teatards buy it in case lots and send it as Christmas gifts to all of their liberal acquaintances in the hope that it will open their eyes.

(Hey, it works for the Coulter critter.)

Palin should have stuck to having a ghost writer to write a book for her instead.

After all, the labor costs are much lower, so if the book bombs, then she will not loose too much money.

Just a quick post to note that the person behind "The Undefeated" is Stephen Bannon, who funded and directed the movie. While Sarah Palin would profit indirectly if the movie had been successful, from such things as it keeping her in the public eye and in demand as a public speaker, as far as I know she did not invest any money in the making of the film and does not receive any money directly from it. *

*She may, however, be entitled to receive a percentage of the sales of licensed spin-off items from the movie, such as the collectible drinking cups, plush toys, and inflatable dolls.

From IMDB's message board:

"Spoiler Alert: Here's the twist ending of The Undefeated"

"It turns out that her political career was dead the whole time."

This kind of reminds me of Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed. Apparently, the movie-going public is smarter than I would give them credit for, despite the Spy Kids franchise.

Why is it called The Undefeated?
I think it references the fact that she never lost an election, which is sort of true if you contend that the presidential election was really McCain running, not her. Also, it has a snazzier feel than "The Quitter".

From the reviews, it appears that the movie hardly mentions her VP run at all.

Cool, I never lost an election either! :D

Even though, of course, her nomination as the VP candidate in a losing ticket is the sole raison d'etre for this film! If McCain hadn't picked her, she would have no national audience and there would be no movie.

They showed the John Wayne movie of the same name on This TV recently. I guess the documentarist fancies Palin as a Union Civil War hero. Funny, I'd've put her in the states' rights side. Maybe she identifies more with Rock Hudson. . . a homosexual who was perceived as a heterosexual sex symbol!

ETA: Also, I'm so glad they don't use that count-the-wins-but-not-the-losses approach in safety and efficacy testing new drugs.
