Wow, I never thought I'd see the day that a group representing atheists would actually have an active lobby on Capitol Hill.

I think this is something that atheists, agnostics, non-theists, freethinkers, etc should definitely get behind. Here's more info...

Give 'em a look folks. It's time for us to represent ourselves politically, rather than letting the religious zealots in this country tell everyone else who we are.

Cheers - Mattus

Michael Newdow is an "outstanding representative" of the nation's secularists, eh? Yeah, good luck with that, guys.

Everybody has an active lobby on Capitol Hill. The DC Yellow Pages in my office has "Associations" starting on page 78, and ending on page 87. And believe me when I tell you there are no full-page ads. Here are some of them:
  • Afghanistan Foundation
  • American Bakers Association
  • American Pulpwood Association
  • American Sugarbeet Growers Association
  • American Zinc Association
  • Beer Institute (Yeah!!!)
  • Cigar Association of America
  • Corn Refiners Association
  • Door and Hardware Institute
  • Greting Card Association
  • Infectious Diseases Society of America
  • International Slurry Surfacing Association
  • National Association of Private Schools for Exceptional Children
  • National Oilseed Processors Association
  • Outdoor Power Equipment Aftermarket Association
  • Reusable Pallet and Container Coalition
  • United Sports Fans of America

[*]Infectious Diseases Society of America
Feh. They're probably agin' 'em. Call me when there's a lobbying group for infectious diseases in America and then I'll be impressed.

Hmmmm. I might be interested. Do they have a militant wing?
