Hey folks, I've noticed a couple things on TV lately that just make me happy: is it me, or does it seem that comedy writers are really against The Secret?
Okay, I've only seen it mentioned on two shows: Best Week Ever (a weekly entertainment news wrapup), and Saturday Night Live last night.
On both shows, they took an excellent approach. They simply presented The Secret as exactly what it claims to be: a way to control the universe with your mind. The SNL skit was based on the Oprah show, and made several good points (including a bit where they blamed the strife in Darfur on "negative thoughts").
One Best Week Ever commentator said, "I'm going to use my new powers to find world peace and end hunger...but first I really want that new video iPod!"
I'm guessing comedians must have seen this and realized that the humor pretty much writes itself, since it is so ridiculus.
So, have you guys spotted anything else like this? Is the media starting to show The Secret for what it really is?
