The Scooby Doo/Cthulhu connection

I have said it before on this site but its worth repeating that Velma Dinkley (of Scooby Doo fame) is the original and greatest skepchick.

Once a week she would debunk an apparently supernatural story with the greatest of ease. I think we should engage her on the PG bigfoot debate - the head of the monkey costume would be off before you could say 'those pesky kids'.

Riiight... And I suppose Daphne Blake is the granddaughter of the Milwaukee weird fiction author Robert Blake, sent by the Wilmarth Foundation to keep an eye on the Scooby clan?

Hey, if Kilik can do it, so can I. Quite obviously, Scooby Doo proves the existance of the Great Old Ones. Here is all the proof you need.

There is a serious point here. You can find a way to link any two things if you try.

Funny you should mention that. I did a Call of Cthulhu campaign a couple years ago where everyone played a Scooby Doo character. The "Phantom Fiend," as it turned out, was just a cranky old man with a bug in his head trying to summon Cynegha for some kind of convoluted pyramid scheme. The best part was when Daphne developed severe paranoia and tried to unmask Freddy with a crowbar...

I was Scrappy, by the way. I made it to the end with four sanity left.

I can't yet post the full URL, but HTTP to maison-otaku.net/~rhea/Cthulhu/Shaggy

No comment needed I think.
