This is my first post, but I been a fan of this site for a few years now.

I recently visited some in-laws in D.C., and my nephew had a book of "ghost stories". Flipping through it, I found one about the Crow indian chief Black Foot.

Apparently his remains had been lost for years, until Black Foot appeared in the dreams of a psychic named Victoria Mauricio in the late 70s. She supposedly led the tribe to his remains located in a cave in Wyoming.

Does anyone have any more info on this? I am interested in learning how he was really discovered.

Black Foot

I like Blackfoot. They did the hit songs, "Train,train"...and "Highway Song".

I can't help you, but I can welcome you to the forum. Welcome, I am sure some one will know something about this.

I tried to read the link, but I read this first sentence and couldn't go on
All Native Americans share one thing in common: a veneration of their ancestors which most Whites don't understand.
It starts off with a sweeping generalisation, ALL native americans blah blah, then quickly leaps into a racist slur, claiming most "whites" don't understand an exceedingly simple concept, veneration of ancestors.

This is fun :)

TigerRam,

That was an interesting (if difficult to read.. the layout) story.

I could only offer the usual explanations for psychic phenomena.

1. The women found out through other means where Blackfoot was buried and decided to punt a “supernatural” story for fame and money?
2. She researched and made an educated guess.
3. Sheer coincidence
4. Law of averages (how many other claims of Blackfoot where found to be false) .. someone had to get it right sooner or later.

A few things we can be pretty sure about.. Blackfoot NEVER talked to this woman as he is dead and she may have had dreams but is exaggerating the talking to the dead chief stuff !

Hmm.... I see something... a name beginning with R or maybe a J, a male figure, maybe a father figure who's standing over your shoulder. He keeps pointing to his hand and he's holding something...

Aaargh!

Did a quick Google for '"Black Foot" psychic'. Weirdos! All of them!

(I didn't find anything else about the story apart from the link already given)
