The powers of 10

Oh, that's really, REALLY nice. I can see why you didn't describe the thing in detail. Go look, everyone.

Rolfe.

finally saw it... I can only say...wow.

Were the light years actually used to measure cellular structre on the sub atomic level?

I can't see the flash thing right now, but I believe I've seen versions of that thing before.

I'm kind of reminded also about the opening scene of the movie Contact, where it starts out on earth, with sounds from the radio. It pans back, off the earth, out of the solar system, and as the viewpoint gets farther away the radio sounds get older and older. And when it gets far enough away, it just goes completely quiet. It was a really cool sequence, but some moron in the theater where I saw the movie shouted out "Hey, where's the sound!" when it went silent.

that's almost as annoying as everyone in the theater saying "so jodie foster's dad was an alien all along?"

neat link, and it also reminded me of the scene in Contact.

Really cool... but what is even more amazing is the technology necessary to build a camera with such a strong zoom lens, and to get it that far into space.
