The Open Chemical Physics Journal ? Disappeared...

Anyone contact Bentham yet? I get the feeling that both the Pileni & Frydman fiascoes has made it hard for them to find anyone to be involved in it.

Well it is possible their site registration was not paid....

<snort> <snicker> <rofl>

What was that about?

If you are referring to Pileni & Frydman, both were the editors of the OCP Journal and both resigned. Pileni because they totally circumvented her & Frydman for their refusal to discuss the Harrit paper or providing him with any information regarding it. IIRC correctly he said something to the effect that no one was actually running the journal; which is weird because Griscom said he had correspondence with the journal's editors. So just who was it? It wasn't Pileni, the editor who didn't know about the paper.

I thought the journal was discontinued a while back. I believe Ryan Mackey mentioned it.

Breaks my heart to learn that the paper is no longer available on their websites....:)

Well, that's interesting. An advertisement so bad it killed the magazine in which they paid for it to be published. That probably doesn't happen often.

Exactly! Thnx. Using the Blogger keywords, the post over at Screw Loose Change makes a nice rendering of the Harrit saga:

I love the smell of Twoofer irony, in the morning. It smells like V...

In all seriousness, the only person minding the store at Bentham was Mahmood Alam, the publisher. Everyone else was just window dressing. This goes for any of the various "Open Journals" that I investigated.

He may still be there. He's a fraud, and I doubt he has anything to lose.

Something we all may want to do is inform our respective alma maters of Bentham's behavior. I have noticed their journals being listed in some databases. It could go unchecked as I am sure most professors don't have the time to crosscheck every reference.
