I'm not sure if this has been brought up here before, but I'll post anyways.

As most of us know, in 2004, Nick Berg was beheaded in Iraq. It is believed by most that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi personally beheaded Berg. However, like most shocking events (JFK, 9/11 etc.), there is a conspiracy theory to offer an alternate explanation of events that involves the US government.

Who killed Nick Berg?
http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2004/05/28/1085641717320.html

From what I have gathered, some say the CIA killed Berg to make the insurgents look like they were doing stuff worse than the prison abuse that was all over the news at the time.

Now, I can definitely say that I don't believe for one second that Berg was killed by anyone other than al-Zarqawi, especially the US government. This just furthers my belief that for every shocking event, there is a conspiracy theory.

Just a quick disclaimer though. These articles speak frequently of the taped video of the event. I strongly advise you do not watch it. Seriously.

So, thoughts?

al-Zarqawi = British/US intel agent?

Berg = Intel agent?

Beheading took place at Abu Graib?

I don't have your proof, but much has been written about this, for a couple years. (I haven't read the 50 fishy circumstances yet, but it's all probably in there).

OMG...it never ends in the minds of the eternally paranoid.

Is this the one that talks about those "american" white plastic chairs? You know, the ones that are sold in cheap department stories in every city on the planet?

I own eight, I must be a CIA asset too...

Conspiracies exist. Especially during war.

It never ends, in the minds of the eternally comfortable, petrified that the enemy might be too close to home, the denial that some things are very amiss.

But don't worry your head; all will be fine.

But in Baghdad? They have a Walmart already???

It talks about the boots too. But I guess they stole them from American GIs. Or something.

Yes what a ridiculous notion, that a bunch of cave-dwelling arabs (who invented civilisation, let it be said) could own plastic chairs. Laughable!

ETA.

I've never been in a Walmart in my life, nor ever laid eyes on one. As far as I am aware there are no Walmarts in New Zealand. Yet still I have the chairs. Odd.

You blindly believe anything you're told, as long as it's from a conspiracy website. Evidence means absolutely nothing to you.

Come on man...you got to admit, there are some amongst you that think everything USG is a conspiracy.

Sall Im sayin.

Nicholas Berg, Daniel Pearl, any time a Jew is killed by Islamic Extremists the conspiracy theorists call it a conspiracy.

Why? Because deep down, they hate Jews. Pure and simple. Not Israel...not Zionism....but Jews.

al-Zarqawi = British/US intel agent?

Do you have any proof for this insinuation? Or are you simply painting him as a US/British agent because he attempted to join the then US and British supported Mujahadeen in Afghanistan in 1989?

Berg = Intel agent?

He owned a small communications antenna repair service and hoped to make a lot of money by getting government contracts to repair Iraqi infrastructure. He previously done similar work in Uganda.

Beheading took place at Abu Graib?

And there can't possibly be two separate places in Iraq with light-yellow colored walls and dark-red colored floors?

Actually stealing boots, clothes, and artillery from the enemies' dead soldiers isn't uncommon, especially if they're better equipped as US military personnel usually are.

That's assuming the walls were actually yellow in the first place. The still images seem to show that the camera's color temperature wasn't set properly. The white balance seems to be set to "Daylight" when in fact they shot under thungsten lighting (therefore making everything seem yellowish).

Strangely enough, conspiracy theorists never mention the other beheadings (which were shot by daylight and show a white wall). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugene_Armstrong

[FONT=verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif]23) The videotape was quite blurred.

Suddenly that matters?

It didn't seem to with the "squibs" from WTC7
