Unfortunately, homeopathy does not look unattractive at all and has the place that it deserves and is extremly popular. More people consult homeopaths privately though than you would ever imagine.
Shame for you that really isn't it.
Your poor little voice will never be heard and as for banning - no chance mate!!!
Yes it is a shame for me. It's a shame for anybody who likes their medicines based in fact and science. It is a shame that there are so many idiots who have proved their lack of ability to think critically and search out evidence of any effectiveness.
I'm not debating the scale. I know that there are thousands of people out their consulting homeopaths. What I am saying is that these people are idiots.
It is a shame that homeopaths, however they have done it, have weaseled their way in to our health service - a service we pay for in order to provide services:
* promoting health and preventing ill-health
* diagnosing and treating injury and disease
* caring for those with a long-term illness and disability, who require the services of the NHS.
And in many, if not most, cases it works. I've had fractures operated on using the NHS. I've seen family members go in for cancer surgery and hip operations. I've seen another family member die of Motor Neurone Disease whilst in an NHS hospital. But through all of it, the doctors and nurses there did their
damn best to diagnose and treat the problems as well as provide support and loving care for their patients.
They did not give them little sugar pills which have been covered in water that once went near a 'natural remedy' and hoped that the placebo effect would work it's magic. It is thanks to orthodox medicine that the doctor can say to a cancer sufferer that they will probably be able to live another twenty years.
I know that there are gullible people who will pay for nonsense like homeopathy. But it's adding insult to injury to realise that we are paying for it.
Yes, this is a voice of shame. It is shame for the collective intelligence of the British people, and more so, that of the NHS trusts for not seeing homeopathy in its true light: nonsense.
