An odd concept for a radio programme, but it works quite well.

Get a comedian, a scientist, and someone who has done something interesting, to bring concept that interests them to "the museum of curiosity", which means let them talk about i for several minutes.

This week there was a comic who played the ukulele (talking about poisons in cosmetics through history), Marc Abrahams (talking about an academic who listed things that annoyed him and wrote academic papers about the and Buzz Aldrin, who talked about Aldrin Mars Cycler (which uses a figure-8 orbit between Earth and Mars to move supplies between the two planets with low fuel costs).

Worth listening to if it is available

I'm a huge fan of QI, so I'll give this a listen (I know they're not technically affiliated, but the research panel is the same, and the creator of both shows is the same, and they have several of the same people on each).

Each series is collected on cd or available on itunes or from audible.
I like that the curator (secondary host) changes each year slightly altering the dynamic of the comedy. Bill Bailley has a different style to Dave Gorman or Sean Locke.

Brian Blessed submitted the Yeti, as a particularly JREFF flavoured item, and Terry Pratchett has been a guest.

I always treated them as affiliated. John Lloyd is as you mention, the host of and creator of the museum and the creator of QI, and the research pannel is not only the same, but is credited as the QI Elves. The museum has been treated as being as much a spin off from QI as the books etc.
