You know, I don't think John Kerry would make a bad president. I'm sure he could do just a good a job as anyone else. If he ends up winning it won't be the end of the world and western civilization like the Bush camp makes out.

For the life of me though, I still can't fathom the logic behind John Edwards as the veep nominee. This guy is a total douche. I can't even describe the irritation I have at seeing some empty suit douchebag like him get fasttracked to the presidency.

Which brings me to.....

John Edwards had this three prong reasoning why the Kerry administration would be better. The third reason was that the Kerry administration would be truthful. I'll assume he was meaning _after_ the debate ended this period of honesty and integrity would start.

Edwards started off the debate with the "big lie" that the administration said Saddam was linked to 911. He reiterated this lie several more times. After the debate, their campaign had operatives _ready_ to defend this by saying Cheney mentioned links between Iraq and Al Qaeida (nothing up my sleeve).

This was the epitome of dishonesty and it reveals something much deeper. Is a smart lawyer like Edwards honestly not aware that he is telling an untruth or is he willingly perpetuating a flat-out falsehood?

How do you know when a politician is lying? We all know the joke. After watching Edwards promise to be honest after flatout lying repeatedly the joke is on us. I hope the Bush admin takes a note and remembers not to promise to be honest ::cough::.

And by the way, JJ you big troll. You call many things a "big lie" to the point of baffling me (up until I turned your posts off, weee). Take note JJ, this is the "big lie" in pure form.

Kerry perpetuated this same big lie today at a campaign stop. Take note JJ, the "big lie" is out there and you who call everything a big lie haven't even noticed it.

It has always been the impression they have tried to create, and the Richard Clarke quote can be rolled out again if you want. When the plans for the Afghanistan invasion were being rolled out, Iraq was already on the war map. The linkage has both been implied, and the plan of attack has been made on this notion.

As for lying, I can't really see the difference between saying you won't lie, and then lying, and not saying you won't lie, and then lying. How many times do you hear someone start of a sentence 'Honeslty.....'.
