...what is the paranormal, what are the types of paranormal phenomena and who are the personalities who have investigated paranormal phenomena?
I'm sure that if you mined this forum you'd find lots of interesting facts that should be saved from obscurity (the back of the database) and made available to the whole wired world.
Bear in mind that if you define a paranormal phenomenon, then do it in as neutral a fashion as possible, so as not to setup a straw man. Then when you discuss it, you can tear it to shreds (or not, as the case may be)
Urgent requirements:
Someone please define -
- Psychics
- Spiritualism
- Divination
- Prophecy (which is where we're going to stick Nostradamus et al)
- Necromancy (Sylvia Browne, John Edward et al)
- Numerology (eg the Bible Code)
- Psychic Surgery
- Remote Viewing
- Seances
There is a separate section (under "People") to put in biographies of people you reference, so if someone would like to profile Sylvia Browne and/or Uri Geller then be my guest.
To get started, send an e-mail to jrefwiki@gmail.com with your JREF moniker, real name (to prevent imposters stealing your moniker), and by return you'll get a random password. The login at http://www.jrefwiki.org/wiki and click "Create an account or login" in the top right hand corner of the page, put in your JREF moniker and random password. I would recommend you change the password to something you can remember (which is done in "Preferences")
Then start wiki-ing!
As a practice you can use the Sandbox here
Try to be helpful by putting in a template in the blank page first. To do this, cut and paste the template at this link into your blank page, and then fill in the blanks! (To be clear: Click on "View Source" and copy everything in the page from ==Definition === downwards, and then goto your chosen (blank) page and click Paste)
For an example of how an article should be developed, see Yahweh's article on Utilitarianism or or this one on Agnosticism
Thanks! The more people do this, the more fun, complete and useful it will be!
