The greatest victory tonight -for Republicans and Democrats- will be resting in the knowledge that -if he loses- you will never have to hear McCain's 'My Friends' catchphrase ever again.

He can go back to being a cranky old man? Good. The Happy My Friends version creeped me out. More 'that one' less 'my friends'.

NO! IT will be a collective tooth-gnashing by John,Cindy,Sarah, Karl R.,Dick C. Dumbya, Rush L.,Sean H. and the entire Repulsican party and the dittoheads who voted for the 'OLD Man & American Idle' ticket (to nowhere), resulting in nationwide boom business for US dental industry bringing about swift, worldwide financial recovery!

I am less concerned about hearing from McCain than I am about hearing Sarah Palin's lofty punditry and the fawning of her "Republican base" personality cult every day for at least the next four years.

Hopefully, the greatest victory tonight will be the banishment, forever (or at least for a while), of voter apathy.

the fawning of her "Republican base" personality cult

Um... you do know that the other candidate is Obama, don't you? If you want to talk about cults of personality, that's the elephant in the room. Or the really big donkey in the room, if you prefer.

My advice to you is to start drinking heavily.

Speaking of donkeys, where is an asshat picture when you need one?

The irony is that the big winner tonight is also the big loser because he will be inheriting a poisoned chalice.

If by "poisoned" you mean a gigantic ticking time bomb surrounded by cobras and light saber wielding attack monkeys.....then yeah, sure.

"Blame President Bush" can still work for a while, and with a still willing media, possibly for some years.

Yes sir that will happen. It's exactly what Clinton did. He promised to give tax breaks...etc.. etc.. and then said nope, sorry, can't do it because the republicans left us with such a huge deficit. He then continued to play the blame game whenever he didn't stick to his word. Obama will be no different, heck, he's broken his word a couple times already. The media will continue to conveniently leave things out and people will make excuses even when it's their pockets being picked.

One good thing about his whole thing is the Democrats have control of the House and Senate. They can't blame Republicans anymore because there are non left.

Sure, we all know Obama will inherit a perfect country, a flourishing economy, and a peaceful and collaborative world, thanks to Bush the Beneficent. Attributing any future problem to the previous administration will only prove how biased the liberal media are ;)

... possibly for some years.

Could you give us a sell-by date ? ;)

Blaming Bush for everything can have the unintended consequence of portraying Obama as someone who could only win by succeeding the weakest of (white) Presidents. Obama won't bash Bush but those around him will unless Obama reigns them in.
