I'm planning on doing a review of The Last Dance for Grace: the Crystal Mangum Story and I came across a 3 chapter excerpts. The more I read it the most it sounds like a conspiracy theory.

People were against Crystal because she was black, because she was female, because she was an exotic dancer, Duke photoshopped the pictures that proved she was lying, blah, blah, blah. Yeah, it's everyone else. It has nothing to do with the fact that she just made all of this up.

It's already obvious that she lied repeatedly but as far as the rest of her life I'm not sure what to think. There must be some truth in some of it. I think. Hmmmmm...

The Duke players somehow spiked the DNA results and then forced Nifong to not turn them over to...themselves?

I don't know if I could help you with the "rest of her life" information. But, I can point you at a source for a good deal of the actual rape "case" stuff: KC Johnson's blog "Durham-in-Wonderland".

His site has a very, very pointedly strong point of view on the event. But it's still the most factual site I've seen regarding this story. So while there will be next to no background info on Magnum herself, much, much information surrounding the accusation and investigation itself can be found there.
