The afterlife is real! It doesn't generally last as long as the person lived. People spend it being eaten by fungi and bacteria.
I don't expect you skeptics to take my claim on faith; so buy some shovels and go to your local graveyard. See for your self.

It actually lasts much longer than the person lived: for example, Julius Caesar's afterlife has lasted for over 2,000 years so far, and shows no sign whatsoever of ending.

I suppose the beforelife would start out longer, but the afterlife would eventually overtake it.

That's a special case, just like mummies. You'll note I said generally. Bones shouldn't count anyway. If they do then does dead coral millions of years old count as still being in their afterlife? When does it end if you count that? When it's worn to dust?

If the universe has sufficient mass, it all ends with the Big Crunch, I guess.

Or Heat Death, or maybe we're currently wrong and it will go on forever, or something else completely.:) I think current data points to the Big Crunch not happening. But you know how fast cosmology knowledge changes. I don't lock myself into much of it.
What we do know is there are quadrillions of stars spread out between 100+ billion galaxies, the universe has microwave background radiation, light is Doppler Shifted towards the red and most of the mass of the universe we can't see.

No, just the two.-Professor
Oh, well, I'm sure that's enough.-Fry"-(Futurama)

Except that dead people don't consciously experience any of this do they?

Uhhh... I wouldn't call that state of being "life," let alone "afterlife." Not unless you could get back up while being eaten by fungi and bacteria. Actually, that would be kind of cool. Like zombies or something.
