testimonies of conversion

I know that when I converted I felt an overwhelming sense of relief. Of course, I was converting TO atheism.
 
In answer to the real question though, I think what's going on is that people feel satisfaction when they believe that they've found an answer to their problems (be they concerns about mortality, morality, or loneliness). The fact that it's an imaginary answer is irrelevant, what is important is that they BELIEVE they have found the answer. It's not surprising that they feel an overwhelming sense of completeness.

I think he should have stuck to his first thoughts. At around 1:45 into the video he talks about how he used to believe the Bible was for people who did not have a high IQ.

Of course by the end of the video he is on the Jesus train, full steam ahead.

A common thread I hear in a lot of conversion stories is this sense of being lost and feeling alone. The first thing a person finds that fills this void, they cling to. It could be religion, it could be a cult...it could be fantasy football. I am not sure the actually activity of belief structure is as important as the sense of community they perceive.
 
some were some thing tells me that this guy might even be faking it,i mean he says he tried eastern religons before and calls confuicius a religous teacher and says that if u go 2 buddhas grave he is there dead and buried,buddha doesnt even hav a grave, his body was creamated and scattered far and wide!

Only 2 Buddhas? Which ones body was turned into cream?
