A science programme on channel ARD, Germany's biggest public-service channel, often ends with answers to very short, concrete questions. Last night one of the questions was, Does telekinesis exist? Instead of a long answer the people behind it simply pointed to the one million $$:

Telekinese, die Fähigkeit durch Geisteskraft Gegenstände zu bewegen. Gibt es so was? Uri Geller hat das immer behauptet. Und wurde lustigerweise einmal auf Vaterschaft verklagt. Tatsächlich von einer Frau, die mit der Spirale verhütete und sagte: Dadurch, dass er mit seiner mentalen Fähigkeit ihr Metall verbogen hätte, sei er der geistige Vater ihres Kindes. Die internationale Skeptikervereinigung hat eine Million Dollar ausgeboten für jeden der beweisen kann, dass es Telekinese tatsächlich gibt. Das Geld wurde bis jetzt noch nicht abgerufen.

And the funny thing is that he was once accused of paternity by a woman who used an IUD as contraception and said that he had bent its metal with his mental powers and was therefore the spiritual father of her child. The international association of skeptics offers one million dollars for anyone who is able to prove that telekinesis actually exists. So far nobody has received the money.
