Oy vey. First, Rand Paul is shocked to find out his long-stated political positions are too embarrassing to continue answering questions, and now the GOP Senate nominee in Nevada, Sharron Angle, will not face media interviews.

Here is Senate Republican campaign chair John Cornyn making excuses for her:

"You're going to have complete 100 percent access to her, but I think it just makes sense, at some point that I think she needs to get staffed up and prepared," Cornyn said. "I don't think anybody would be prepared for a race like this where 20 or 30 million dollars is going to be spent in negative advertising."

What the hell? She's been in politics for something like 10 years. She's been running for this office she seeks for many months now. Not ready to take questions? These are the wages of teabaggery in Republican primaries. People with nutty political notions, who didn't realize how far out they were, are suddenly nominees for high office and are finding out that they can't go out in public with their old ideological raiment.

It's easy to look to S. Palin as the originator of this strategy. But her case is fundementally different in that the cause for retreat was ignorance and inarticulateness, not kooky ideas.

Paul and Angle: Too embarrassed by their own politics to discuss them with the media.

My grandson will running for office before Angle gets a clue what she is supposed to be doing.

I like the trend that Caribou Barbie started in the GOP. Pretty airheads are such a pleasure to watch and laugh at.

If she says nothing, Ried will call her a vacuous amateur.

If she opens her mouth, she will prove it.

Reid hang himself? The GOP is trying their best to unhang Angle because of the stupid nonsense that comes out of her mouth. What she says aren't just gaffs either, her actual positions are very out of touch.

Out of touch? Try this on for size:

You know, our Founding Fathers, they put that Second Amendment in there for a good reason and that was for the people to protect themselves against a tyrannical government. And in fact Thomas Jefferson said it's good for a country to have a revolution every 20 years.

I hope that's not where we're going, but, you know, if this Congress keeps going the way it is, people are really looking toward those Second Amendment remedies and saying my goodness what can we do to turn this country around? I'll tell you the first thing we need to do is take Harry Reid out.

Yeah, out of touch to say that if elections don't go your way, then overthrowing the result by force of the gun is the expected remedy, and not realize in advance that you'd get questioned about such things if you ever came to serious public notice as a politician.

This is what I'm talking about. Angle must be stunned that journalists might take a strong interest in these utterances, and thus is suddenly too embarrassed to discuss the topic.
