Tea Party Candidate Christine O'Donnell Falsely Claimed to Have Attended Universities

I love this media whore.

She is like the Lady Gaga of politics, without any modicum of talent.

But... but we've been taxed enough already...

Smaller government... ?

Um... we need to take back America?

The claim is that O'Donnell earned a certificate from an Oxford course which her campaign said is "overseen" by a summer seminar program called the Phoenix Institute.

So the course was an Oxford course but given by The Phoenix Institute. Assuming this was an official rental of the course, it would still be misleading to say you got this certificate from "Oxford".

Unless, of course, Oxford is in the business now of whoring out their name to any organization willing to teach their courses.

According to the article, it wasn't even an Oxford course, just a Phoenix Institute course that took place in the physical location of Oxford and had one or two Oxford guest lecturers.

This whole thing is pretty much a non-issue for me. Aside from the fact that I don't live in Delaware, embellishing her resume is the least of the reasons for which I wouldn't vote for her.

It should be clear even to the GOP by this point that this woman is nuts with a big side of stupid. She should be aware that she will be caught in any lie she tells. She is not ready for prime time.

*Update: Greg Sarget just updated his Plum Line blog with a statement from O'Donnell in which she says she says the LinkedIn profile is not hers. Here's the statement:

"There have been reports that I have released false information on a LinkedIn profile under my name. This is categorically untrue. I never established a LinkedIn profile, or authorized anyone to do so on my behalf. I have always been clear about my educational background. I completed undergraduate work at Fairleigh Dickenson University. After my undergraduate work, I completed a summer program run by the Phoenix Institute, at the Institute's Oxford University location. The Institute runs programs around the world at various universities, and participants study issues of human dignity. I also completed a Lincoln Fellowship at the Claremont Institute in Claremont, CA. We would encourage LinkedIn to remove this profile.

I understand she couldn't even get her witchcraft spells working.

ETA: I'm ashamed I didn't suggest the LinkedIn account may be a fraud, as it had occurred to me as I was reading it.

she won't lie to save Jews, but she will lie on her resume.

nice, just like a true Christian.

I wonder if it can be determined when the account was created. In this politically charged climate, it seems she's becoming a rather easy target.

Seems like a long way to go to gin up something that's ultimately not that big of a deal. And in his follow-up article, Sargent claims that O'Donnell's spokesperson didn't deny the existence of the Linkedin account on the two separate occasions he inquired about it.

Anyone know how hard it would be to verify if the account is hers or not?
