Just wanted to tell you all this:

TBN's Beg a thon which is where people give money to keep False Prophets and Teachers such as Creflo Dollar and benny Hinn and Rod Parsley and Jack van Impe on the air starts Monday and will be on all week,so sadly no Greg Laurie or Hal Lindsey and Charles Stanley and Adrian Rogers and Ed Hindson and Michael Youssef (the only legitmate Preachers on TBN IMO) next week.

This "Beg-a-thon" sounds like total crap. It would rather raise money to put people out of a job rather than invest it into something much more worthwhile such as medical/AIDS/Cancer research, victims of spousal abuse, or disastor victims...

Whatever charity this "Beg-a-thon" claims to be, it needs to get its priorities straight.

Billiefan: Creflo, Benny, Rod and Jack have to maintain the lifestyle they've grown accustomed.

For instance - Can you imagine how much money it takes to make Rexella Van Impe look lifelike?

As for the others you mentioned - they are also misguided. But I agreed with half your post!

triadboy,many folks agree with you

Many Christians and Atheists have one thing in common:

Many of them feel disgust towards many on TBN.

I have said that people need to start rising up and telling the public the truth to people about the frauds on TBN cause the longer we who know what these frauds are up to and stay silent on what the phonies on TBN such as Hinn and Dollar and Parsley and Van Impe among others are doing, the worse they will get.

triadboy, good point on Rexella though. Why is it these woman either look like something from a crappy horror film or have to the ugliest and most crappy hairdos possible.

by the way:

i can do you one better !!!! someone I know called for prayer on TBN he began recieving stuff (piece of cloth) in mail was told send in a good will donation then we will see you are blessed !!!

"money for prayer" ....this young man is new at this and really thought that to get blessing he had to send money!!!!!

ugh!!!

Know,I know many Atheists and Christians took on Robert Tilton in the 70's for this kind of fraud, and I for would like to see thse modern day Tilton's be exposed for what they are doing cause I like most people both Christian and Non-Christian are sick of thse guys getting away with their fraud, and I for would like to see these guys being exposed for what they are doing.

Its nice to agree with something like that!!:)

Unfortunatley, I have come across some Christians online...in the past....... who have been sucked in by the likes of Benny Hinn and Crouch.

Isn't it Jan Crouch that has huge pink hair...obviously a wig, and wears more make-up than Tammy Bakker ever thought of wearing? That lady is very scary......and an absolute joke. What sort of witness is she?

Ruby..

they started it last night...

Paul Crouch was saying talking about how the "Heretic Hunters" are obsessed with going after Benny Hinn cause he has expensive suits.

That isnt why everyone who knows and thinks Hinn is a fraud whom Paul Crouch by the way calls a Heretic Hunter is going after Hinn.

They are going after Hinn cause he is deciving people, not because he has expensive suits.

I think a question should be asked:

Where is Hinn getting the money then to afford his expensive lifestyle.

My parents were THRILLED to get to go to TBN's LA studio. They even recieved a campy "stained glass" memento window as a souviner. They love their TBN. They love Benny Hinn.
Whackjobs.

Moe!

Ex 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land.

(How come there's no wagging finger smiley when you need one?)

Billiefan, and others repulsed by TBN and its ilk... after you donate to other worthy causes of your choice, send a buck or two to the Trinity Foundation, Inc.. They investigate the televangelism industry and have been hitting hard on TBN for years. Randi has done his own thing, as well, but this is the primary mission of this organization.

Uh, it's more than obvoius where the money's coming from. It's all the crap he sells.

It's also obvious that his "healings" are age-old tricks.

What I would like to know, billiefan, is what doctrinal problems you may with Hinn. Doesn't he make some claims about Jesus and whatnot that run very counter to mainstream Protestant religious doctrine, and would cause many to label him "non-Christian," a la the Mormons?

hgc...

In a MLM system, everyone is convinced that they are at or near the top of the newest scheme to bring in more money. The people participating are told that it takes money to make money. Therefore, you (usually by invitation) were invited usually by someone higher than you in the pyramid scheme to participate in this money making opportunity usually by being a distribitor of some product with some of the profits going in the pockets of the distributor. After you learn how to sell and set up distribution channels, you go out and find people under you that will do the legwork of making the money that will sell and distribute the product and force the cash flow back to your hands prior to the people under you seeing their money. You as a distributor are also under this system because your source above you sees his share of the money before you get to see your share of the money. As you get more and more people to be your distributors and those people get others to become buyers and distributors, the base of the pyramid broadens, more levels are created below you, and it appears that you have moved up to a higher level on the pyramid scheme. Therefore the rooting of the foundations are from the top going down. The corporate church of today has applied the same principles to church building and growth.

We have made God into a 30 minute infomercial where we can get rich both finacially and Spiritually at the snap of our fingertips if we "name it and claim it", buy pastor so-and-so's ten part teaching series on getting rich quick, or "get the 'godkind' of faith". To not suceed in this means that you are either not annointed or you "lack faith". We have built churches with the same type of structure.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now onto Hinn:

My problem with Hinn isnt Doctrine,my problem is that he is defrauding Christians with his lie that he can heal people.

I believe there are faith healers, but from what I and many others have seen I see Oral Roberts and Benny Hinn and R. W. Shambach and others on TBN who are known by many to be frauds.

I by the way will never forget the time that R. W. Shambach was "burning the debts" of everyone who sent in their "financial need".

What a farce!

Shambach was stoking the fire, by tossing in the notes from those who had called in their debts, (along with their $1000 pledges, of course!).

As the smoke was rising up, Shambach blurted out:

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This smoke is pouring right through the devil's living room! Let's make the devil angry tonight. Call in your financial need right now, & we'll burn it up. The smoke from your need will go right through the devil's living room. And when calling in your financial need, make your Seed Faith pledge to TBN.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finella:

we all should do that and I for one would like to Skeptics groups go after Van Impe and others like they have done with Sylvia Browne

I want you to know by the way:

http://www.raptureready.com/rap37.html

which shows that people are waking up to Van Impe at least.

Thanks for the info Finella and I hope the frauds like Van Impe and Parsley and Hinn are exposed cause it sickens me to my stomach how any Christian can be so stupid to give them money despite what is commonly known about these frauds.

You might want to look a little closer.

Benny Hinn:

"God the Father, ladies and gentleman, is a person and He is a triune being by Himself, separate from the Son and the Holy Ghost. See, God the Father is a person, God the Son is a person, God the Holy Ghost is a person; but each one of them is a triune being by himself. If I can shock you and maybe I should, there's nine of them! What did you say? Let me explain. God the Father, ladies and gentlemen, is a person with his own personal spirit, with his own personal soul and his own personal spirit body. You say, I never heard that! Well, you think you are in church to hear things you heard for the last fifty years?"

In this statement, Benny Hinn embraces Mormon doctrine which states that God was once a man and attained to godhood by following the beliefs of the Mormon religion.

hgc,you make a point...

I didnt know that, but what you said brings up a good point:

Why would Paul Crouch allow Hinn and others who dont believe Jesus Christ is the Son of GOD on his TV Netwrok, and doesnt that make the claim that TBN is a Christian Channel to be false.

Far be it for me to step into a debate on true Christian doctrine, but I thought you'd be more alarmed about this than even the fraudulent faith healing. Indeed, TBN seems to be more about the business of Christianity than the faith.

hgc,I have seen enough B.S. happen in the Christian Community, that this does bother me a bit,but dont surprise me.

I have seen people cover the death of Richard Eby in the Christian Community as well as seen Jack Van Impe pander to Islam for money and yet there is no public outrage in the USA by Christians or Non-Christians for that and I cant blame people for hating Christians and I myself being a Christian am sick of it.
