I will PM my roommates with this information, but I am posting here also for other curious Flamingo-ites. :) Check my math, though, my numbers tend to reverse themselves.

We have a 4-day reservation for a Deluxe room, the one with the special JREF discount, from 4 PM June 18th to 11 AM June 22. We have two twin-size beds and two trundle beds (small futon-type beds that roll underneath the other beds). The cost went up $30 per person per night because of the rent for the beds. For four people it is $179.00 per night. The total for all four nights with taxes and fees is $780.44. Split four ways, we each have to pay $195.11 at check-in. This is not including the deposit I already made, which will apply to my portion.

It is up to you guys if you want to use your own credit cards or traveler's checks to pay individual portions, which they can do when we arrive, or if we should all get cash after arriving in LV and pay cash. However we do it, they want it all up front at check-in for all four nights.

It's true, there is a deposit for "incidentals". This covers any room service, Flamingo restaurants, cable TV, phone calls, wake-up calls, catastrophic clean up (kidding). It is $100 per night per room, so for us it will be $400. They require $200 of it in cash because we are staying longer than two days. It's one of their little rules. They will credit and/or refund all unused amounts, even the cash part, at check-out. If any of you three can foot the deposit please let me know; I am unable to but I do not intend to use any of these services.

And if you call the hotel, look out. The lady on the voice recording is entirely too bubbly. LOL

Just FYI:

When I called the Flamingo about the deposit, (for four in the room) they said we actually have a choice:

Either:

1. $400 held (not charged) on a credit card. They only charge to the card, upon checkout, if necessary.
The "hold" basically makes sure that the credit card company will allow them to charge that much to the card, if needed. But, you won't be billed, unless it is needed.

OR

2. $200 in cash, with the unused portion refunded at checkout.

Either option you choose, it can only be done upon check-in. Not in advance (unless you are mailing them a check).
