LOL :D

The New Intellectual has brought some staggering revelations to light:

- zero is an invalid number, and we need to devise a new ruler since our numbering system has been "falsified by natural man"

- the Pythagorean theorem is wrong

... and a host of other crazoid garbage. I haven't laughed this hard in some time, and absolutely had to share the site here. Take some time to read through the various sections, they're absolutely priceless.

At least he doesn't believe in Planet X, but how he's arrived at this concusion is a hoot.

Better yet, if anyone uses Paltalk, this person has a chat room in the Social Issues category, called The New Intellectuals.
Enjoy!

Oh my God we have another challenger to the Urantian text!!! Either that or somebody has a lot of time to create a joke site.

BTW I wouldn't download anything from their site it's liable to contain a virus or trojan horse.

Could you post some excerpts from the first link? The websense firewall at work rejects the site under the "pathetic believers of ridiculous nonsense" category.

Most readers will be familiar with the present numbering system, the system that is taught in schools all over the world. The world numbering system is a complex system protected by man-made rules. Rules that make no sense at all. This is why so many children struggle with math, in particular 'fractions'. When a child is told that he can multiply by zero, however he cannot devide by zero, the result is a state of confusion. The confusion is re-enforced by concepts such as 'whole numbers', clearly a contradiction in terms. There can only be one whole number.

This is physically painful to read.

I'd like ot put this guy up in a math-off against UcE. oh maaaan...

Well, it's just not the same -- excerpts severely limit the comedic value... but here's a taste:

THE ROLE OF MODERN MATHEMATICS

The means whereby natural man justifies all his irrational theories is the modern mathematics. For the man in the street modern mathematics is a complete mystery, he accepts in good faith that mathematics makes sense. He is not aware that mathematics has lost all its credibility, that the only purpose it serves, is to protect irrational man. This is why modern mathematics is so important in the educational process, it reinforces irrationality.

Modern mathematics then, gives the intellectual the ability to manipulate his world, in order to conform to his distorted view of reality. He can do this with impunity, because he knows that the mathematics that support his theories, is too 'complicated' for the man in the street to comprehend. His mathematical deck of cards is stacked with two jokers: the symbol; zero, and the symbol; infinity. With these two jokers the 'scientist' can fabricate anything that is required to protect irrationality.

*snicker*

Gee, most kids I know take to math like a duck to water, maybe they just don't like thier favorite claims being smashed by numbers.

The present world numbering system is an extention of natural(irrational) man. It is an irrational numbering system. The abomination of desolation referred to in the book of Mark, is a symbol, it is the "ZERO".

Looks like he's worrying about nothing.

Guh?

Is this the kid that sat in the back row sleeping during Trig and Calc2 and then bitched out the teacher when he failed?

The site produces a hard-to-beat score on the crackpot index. Of course, one is well on one's way to a three-digit score when one starts with the idea that not only is zero unnecessary and confusing, but is "The abomination of desolation..., standing in the place where it ought not to be. (Where the " one" should be.) "

The crackpot's zero to the mathematician's power of ten equals nothing at all.

I hate people who talk about the 'myth' of mental illness, they condemn everyone with a mental illness to moral weakling. Craphead.

favorite quote; from 'the myth of QM':

<The means whereby natural man justifies all his irrational theories is the modern mathematics. >

Oh that's excellent, thanks for sharing.

lemme try it! lemME try it!!!

96. 5 points for imbuing ordinary objects with ridiculously extraordinary powers. ("see this ordinary grapefruit?")

97. 10 points for claiming a deformity from birth is prima facie evidence of your uniqueness and of the verity of your ideas.

98. 20 points if your spokesperson looks like a rapidly senescent dyed-orange beauty school reject that smokes too damn much between forcing vomiting with her left 3rd finger.

99. Tack on another 25 points for claiming that you were unwilling initially, but you were "chosen" by a mysterious external entity for promoting its ideas.

Im sorry people, but I have truly found wisdom in these writings. I especially refer to the numbering part and how all numbers will be replaced with unity.

I mean look at all the possibilities:

-Nooh, offischer, I juscht had one beer.
(Works also with wife / gfriend)
-Working days will be 1 hour long
-Everything will be one dollar
-clocks would be easier to read (no vcr knowledge necessary anymore, they'd just have to blink 1:11 when they're shipped from the factory
-Complexity of computers would decrease significantly if you change from a binary to an unary system (eg. 11111111)

I for my part will await the new world order with arms wide open.
Then I'm gonna drink one beer for one dollar
;)

I'm reminded of a Gahan Wilson cartoon, with a bunch of grotesques worshiping a big "n".

The two people on the edge ask each other: Is Nothing Sacred?

Darnit, my migraine had almost gone when I read this. Now it's back.

On the other hand, his arguments make kind of sense. He only has chosen a different symbol to indicate "origin". Of course, he now has 2*1=1. A diferent kind of unity?

Putting Time Cube and this guy in the same room would result in some kind of critical mass of freaked weirdness, which would collapse in on its self, destroying the laws of physics as we know them and actually making their theories become correct. Not what you want to happen.

Jimlintott complained:
I'm all out of zero.
I can give you as many as you need. I have a little box on the wall that displays "0". When you push the button, the display goes blank for a second and then displays another "0". A never-ending supply of zeroes.
