Synchronizing Bookmarks

What's the most intelligent way of synchronizing and managing bookmarks with Firefox?

I looked into some extensions but none seemed to do what I wanted. I signed up for a service at Yahoo, but it screwed up my folders and "read" about 1/7 of my bookmarkers. Yep, I have too many. The best would be if this could be online, working synchronized with Firefox.

Also, I'd like to synchronize my home computer with my work one. Surely some bookmarks are repeated on both. I could export/import and make it one big file, but soon they'd be outdated. I could even live with that, but it's far from ideal.

Luciana,

I assume you've tried Sync It, and the Firefox extension. That seems like the obvious way to do it, using some webspace to store the bookmarks and loading or reading them as appropriate.

If they're not working for you, don't know what to say, they seem to work for others.

Must be lots of other ways though, using import/export and something like a USB memory stick.

My way is cheap, don't agonise over bookmarks. :p

It's working fine, thanks! I didn't know this service. Well, I'll spend a nice weekend going through all my bookmarks :D but it's working well so far. Thanks!

Thanks for your tip on this. I've been playing around with the Firefox extension. Do you exclude the toolbar in your use of it? I've tried to, but it continues to overwrite the toolbar bookmarks across my different browsers. Basically, I'd like my toolbar bookmarks to be left alone depending on where I'm at (work, home, other), but the rest of my bookmarks to be syncronized.

Thanks.

Dunno punchdrunk, I don't use anything like this. My observation was based on asking a couple of people at work who do use this. One suggested Sync It, the other the Firefox extension. Sorry.

Ah, okay.

I use Google browser sync, which works extremely well. It will also sync your cookies, saved passwords, history, and tabs and windows if you want it to. I've had no issues with it. The only problem might be is that it won't distinguish between bookmarks on your toolbar, and ones in the Bookmarks menu.
