Well there does seem some defence based on either a 'Well JE is really, really nice and dishy and someone so nicey-nice wouldn't be so naughty as to participate with SB if he didn't think SB was the real thing' or a ‘His publisher broke into his house and threatened him with indescribable things and forced him to do it' excuses…

Yeah, but....since the Conventional Wisdom in JE-Land seems to be that

• Sylvia Browne is a lying, cheating scumbag,
  
  and that
  
• John Edward should be able to see through this (since he is a medium, very aware of how cold-reading works, etc.),

  I was hoping that logic would kick in and have his fans draw one of the inevitable conclusions:
  1. Sylvia Browne is a real medium after all,

  2. John Edward is not able to discern between real mediums and con artists,

     Each of these conclusions raise very serious questions about mediumship in general and John Edward in particular.
     
     I am willing to stick my neck out, and claim that it's the reason why nobody's logical skills has kicked in.
     
     Apparently, there is no limit to the excuses his fans will come up with to defend him.
     
     If I am wrong, don't tell me that I am wrong. Prove it.

I'm thinking of starting a public whine campaign about how family unfriendly the new-age movement is. This affair in Hawaii another example of how they carefully select their audience demographics for affluence or exclusiveness.

I suppose us poo folk's got our televangelists...

There was a Faiery Celtic fair in Sedona last Fall that would have cost $15 per person admission, (plus another $5 for parking on a dirt road) if we had not walked off in disgust and gone to an art show instead.

Now, this was entrance to an outdoor fair where they SOLD STUFF. All appearances from afair - the same booths & stuff we had seen a month earlier in Flagstaff for free at a downtown park.

Maybe they market themselves as entertainment, but the entertainment more sort of like gambling: "adults only" not really a family or kids activity.

Maybe they feel guilty about corrupting minors.
