Okay, I was just at the go Sylvia site and, well, just read this post from an avid fan.

First, a mildly intelligent forum member asked who Bill Bradley is and why he didn't win the election Stupid predicted him to (first of all, who doesn't know Bill Bradley?). Here's a quoted response to this person's important question:

"I stand behind my post on a different thread on this board - her 2006 predictions - sure, some are wrong, but, the Britney thing was right on. And besides, political things don't count."

And another:

"Hi all,
OMG!!!! you mean she is human???? a pooey, what a shock...lol"

So there we have it. We just keep reducing Stupid's need to be accurate and whammo! We've got a human who's sometimes right, sometimes wrong--and should, with those credentials, have her own counseling practice at $750/hr.

Awesome! Where do I hang my own shingle? With idiots like these, I'm destined for wild profits.

Effing Morons.

Just from reading your post, I would bet that the person who posted the "besides, political things don't count" is a parody poster.

what was her Brittney "guess"?

That she would get a divorce? Or the whole rehab thing?

Cause guessing Brit would get a divorce was as safe as saying, "It may snow in Alaska this winter"

I don't think this is it, but worth a mention nonetheless.

Blundered predictions in 2004: a Sylvia Browne review
Skeptical Inquirer,
March-April, 2005 by Bryan Farha

Sylvia Browne is one of the best-known alleged psychics in the world and has been popularized mostly by television talk-show hosts Larry King and Montel Williams. She has repeatedly avoided taking the Million Dollar Paranormal Challenge--offered by the James Randi Educational Foundation--even though she agreed to do so three times on live television.
...
Britney Spears doesn't find anyone. Spears got married to childhood friend Jason Allen Alexander in Las Vegas on January 3, 2004--just three days after the prediction aired. The marriage was annulled the next day, but I'm not inclined to negate the prediction because of this.

My local small-town library has a section dedicated to new releases. Included in the current offferings are books by Sylvia Browne and Deepak Chopra. I read about two paragraphs of the Browne book wherin she discusses spirit guides. I'm convinced that Sylvia's "spirit" guide's gotta be Jack Daniels. D

Sylvia's guide, commonly called by Francine, is apparently actually named Iena. She was an Aztec Inca.

Anyone know how to properly pronounce Iena? Is it Eye Eee Nuh? Or Eee Ay Nuh?

It's Eye Eee Nuh. The full name is pronounced, "Eye Eee Nuh Cy Kihk," if you were curious at all.

Aztec Inca?

Two different empires on two different continents. Different languages, cultures, etc.

Though I guess since Sylvia speaks neither Nahautl nor Quechua it doesn't really matter.

Well, my spirit guide was a whelk-picking fishwife from Cullercoats who suffered from lifelong creeping piles.

No wonder I can't make it as a serious psychic

If only I could have got an 89,000-year-old aboriginal Indian from Ethiopia who just happened to speak English - I cudda beena genuine psychic!

I'm just unlucky me. :(
