I hearby annoint this post with the blood of Planet X in the hopes that it won't turn into that other thread I started. Y'all are mean to each other sometimes.

This is a huge race and not just because it's for the Executive Office of the United States. There's a lot of issue baggage coming along with this vote. Iraq, abortion rights, separation of church and state, corporate dealings, taxes, homeland security, etc. Not that these issues don't come along with every major election, but they certainly seem to extremely predominant this year.

Since moving out to the Left Coast, the only political ads I've seen are along the "Vote blah on Question blah" type. This is in stark contrast to MA where I could see ads for elections on the local level at times.

So when I see that both Bush and Kerry have pulled their ads from the state of AZ, I start to wonder. How does it feel to be the voters in that state? Doesn't pulling the ads basically say, "Well, we don't think you're that important."? Doesn't the neglecting of other states say the same thing? "You're not as important as these people over there." Wouldn't that be annoying and make you not want to vote for either shmuck?

Hence, TEH POLL. Whether you're a swing state favorite child or the neglected middle child. How does this make you feel?

I live in Ohio. The candidates kiss my ass every single day - I mean, just today Bush gave a speech to 3500 in Springfield and then to 35000 in West Chester near Cincy.

And after the election is over...... You heard it here first......

Okay, there's this mostly local show called It's Those Stupid Galvins Again on the Cincy NPR affiliate. It's a silly and usually rambling show featuring Jerry and Jene Galvin making it up as they go along more or less - only last Sunday, Jene wasn't there. Know where he was?

He is very good friends with Jerry Springer - they're both from Cincy - and he was going around Ohio with Springer exploring the ramifications and possibilities of Jerry Springer running for Governor Of Ohio.

Ohio is so cool.

This was a joke, right? I mean, I knew Ohio was pretty backward when I left, but it's not THAT f'd up... right? Right???

Obligatory on-topic content: I'm in solid bush Country, and I'm pissed about it.
