Ok,has the Supreme Courts ruling made it clear that race can be used as a factor in admitting students to universities and colleges? Now,quotas are taboo, but racial preference is ok?You can use minority race as a plus in evaluating applicants for a college admission, but not descrimination.Exact numbers or percentages of ethnic groups is an unlawful practice in admissions policy.Yet to have a more diverse ethnic culture, some in the majority may be left out.
It seems as if the Court has legalized
vague and arbirtary standards for universities to use as long as they are not openly obvious about them. Can anyone else see my confusion as to where there is any clairty in these rulings? Are we left with a simular Court ruling on pornography"I can't say what it is,but I know it when I see it"?

I don't see the ruling there yet...

BUT!! Wait a minute! Look at
this guys! Looks like libraries can't use filters to block off sites!

But, maybe, I'm reading that ruling incorrectly.

Oh! My bad! I see the ruling there. :)

Thanks, Brown for the link, by the way. I'm finding it fascinating.

One might expect that the opinion could be found since it was listed at the bottom of the article.;)

I got the following

By accessing cnn.com via asksnoop.com.

"This is a wonderful, wonderful day -- a victory fo' izzall of higher education, because what that shiznit means at its core is that affirmative action may still be used 'n da court's given us a road map get there," be like University of Michigan President Mary Sue Coleman n' ◊◊◊◊. "So we're hella, hella excited 'n hella pleased." "

The court also "gave us a road map fo' changing izzle undergraduate system," brizzle added." "The central principle is that affirmative action may be used -- 'n that's what we wuz fighting fo', know what I'm sayin'? "
