Supreme Court Denies North Carolina Request To Enforce Voting Restrictions This Fall

The North Carolina voting restrictions struck down by a federal appeals court earlier this month will remain off the books for November's election, following a Supreme Court order on Wednesday.

The justices denied North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory's request to halt enforcement of the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals decision striking down five voting restrictions while the state seeks Supreme Court review of the decision.

Among the provisions in the law that the appeals court has ordered the state not to enforce are limits on the type of photo ID required for voting; reductions to the amount of early voting in the state; and elimination of same-day registration, out-of-precinct provisional voting, and preregistration that allowed 16- and 17-year-olds to indicate an intent to register when they turned 18.

It was a 4-4 ruling. One guess as to which Justices voted which way. Good thing that piece of crap Antonin Scalia is dead!

Could say the same for Hillary, can't get much more evil than that. With her health problems we may not have to long to wait. ;)

As for the law, it was very reasonable, you can see the proof in many other states.

I don't think they are. They're trying to make the vote fair, which means evil scum democrats who have made an art form from cheating because most of them are corrupt, immoral, mean and ugly too.

Because you can't figure out that it is impossible to suppress the vote with this law? You have to be a complete moron to allow this law to suppress a vote. As far as low information scum democrats being morons then yes I agree, it will suppress the moron vote, which is mostly made up of democrats.

The low life garbage Republicans were definitely trying to suppress the vote no matter how hard you think it would be to do that. Yet you support those human garbage. For obvious reasons.

No, your narrative is ridiculous. As I've said, only a moron would let this simple law stand in their way to vote. I doubt you realize the government would provide all the information needed if a person couldn't afford it. That's perfect for lazy loser democrats, tailor made for them.
 
As it happens, North Carolina is the one state in the recent rash of voter suppression efforts where we have a smoking gun--clear evidence that they sought data on voting patterns by race and then used that data to target black voters with surgical precision (in the language of the circuit court judges).

Fact stands that the purpose of the laws was suppressing the vote and you have zero issue with it. Because you want the vote suppressed. Just like the human trash Republicans that passed the law.
