Obama: Seemingly came out of nowhere. His ambitions for the White House were not known. He has youth and vigor. A fresh new face. Is an excellent speaker. He captivates people. He is 'not from Washington', so to speak. His idea is to help everyone get ahead. His plan is to take more from those that have more, in order to do it. Gov't may grow and cost billions to trillions more, for seeing his plans through. He believes that some sort of civil service is a good idea. He wants to talk to the enemies first, and fight only as a last resort. But he will do it, if necessary. Obama has read books on, and leans towards a socialistic way of thinking. That being a contrast to the industrial-capitalist system that made our country prosper; that was good for ALL people. He has been accused of help from less than upstanding characters, and has had relationships with unscupulous business people(Resko), ex-terrorist (Ayers), and America and white hating minister (Wright). But, this does not necessarily mean Obama holds those same views and/or may not govern by such views. Many supporters feel that these accusations are baseless, and believe that the likes of Fox-News and conservative talk radio are beating the drum to that tune, so a conservative retains the White House. Also, there is talk Obama had connections to ACORN, but this may or may not be with any meaningful merit. So far noone has connected dots. It has been reputed that Obamas wife, Michelle, has stated that only recently has she been proud to be an America. And couple that with Obama having ties to(and possibly being influenced by) Ayers, who has been pictured in the past, standing on the American flag, while Obama has cited reasons for himself not wearing an American flagpin. Conservatives surely connect the dots, yet Obama supporters feel there aren't any to connect (or simply do not want to, out of their hope for change).
McCain: A purported 'maverick' that has been a career politician. A true patriot, as proven by his service in the military. He has been accused of supporting Bush 90% of the time. But he has also crossed party lines many times over, to simply try to help America. Obama can't even make such claims, as he hasn't put in the time McCain has. McCain has not only paid his dues with his long service to gov't, but surely also has learned in those years what can and can't be done, when dealing with the two parties in gov't. Where Obama has not near as much learned experience, and hence is more apt to have unrealistic ideologies, that he makes sound so good due to his excellent speaking ability. McCain is for less taxes and smaller gov't. Smaller gov't means less apt for the country to turn into a police state, as surely would happen if gov't controls more. McCain will be more apt to appoint Supreme court justices who lean conservative or down the middle, where Obama would make choices to the left. And if the Executive branch is to the left, and the Legislative branch is to the left, and the Supreme court leans to the left, there will no longer be the checks and balance system that helps this country stay on an even keel.
With McCain, you would be voting on the safe side, with no real hidden surprises. But voting for Obama would be taking a big chance, since he has not been in service anywhere near as long, to have built up any kind of track record. And then there are those philosophies and ideologies he has in his head, that only we can guess about.
