Successful "treatment" for homosexuality?

Well considering how many people have considered, and still consider, homosexuality to be something that's not just immoral but also a disease of the mind i wonder if someone has ever been able to "cure" a homosexual so that he actually becomes a heterosexual?

What treatments for this ghastly mental sickness has been shown to be effective? Prayer?
 
Leaving out whether homosexuality is a disease of the mind or not, Is there any successful treatment for any disease of the mind?
 
A few months back, I remember hearing about a guy whose approach was to engage in a nearly naked hug and to hold in that position for extended time to drive the homosexual urge out.

Not surprisingly, the guy advancing this approach claimed to be a _former_ homosexual who was now cured, and was just using this naked hug thing to cure the other guys.

I wish I could remember what it was called. I did find a story about it at the time, but can't remember the exact name. It was something like "Holding Therapy" or the like, but I can't find it searching for that.
 
There is some psychologist (or psychiatrist?) which pretend to has found a treatment against homosexuality , and has some success (his claim), but he was I think razed from the register in the USA, and the psychiatric association, as far as I remember , do not think homosexuality as a choice.

It would also be interesting to know whether any 'treatments' which have claimed to be successful then tried taking a heterosexual, perhaps the originator of the treatment, and making them gay? After all, since we would have a 'cure', any change would surely be temporary.

Yes. ADD, ADHD, schizophrenia, bipolar disease among them. Here's a link. Or did you have something different in mind?
 
I have been credited with "curing" a lesbian.

How is a disease in the brain different from any other disease?

teach the person what 'cell divsion' is.

ie... that a life will die unless it reproduces

teach the victim the truth

kind of like teach people that life is not a reductionary process and more people will comprehend that they can live longer by choice.

Which i keep telling myself actually means no other man would do after me, so why even bother?:blush:
