Streaming video problem with Silverlight - any ideas?

I've signed up to Lovefilm's streaming video service and all was working well. Had it playing on my TV via an HDMI connection from my laptop.

However, it has stopped working, nothing changed (except for Windows updates) but it no longer works via HDMI

The HDMI connection is working and I still see my desktop etc as normal through my TV. The video streaming works on the laptop and I can successfully watch films on the laptop. But, if I have a video playing on the laptop and then plug the HDMI connection in, the video stops playing with an error message (This title is no longer available).

I've tried the obvious things - reboot(!), different browsers (Chrome, IE), uninstalled and reinstalled Silverlight, checked and updated graphics cards drivers.

Lovefilm are no use as it is working without the connection so they say it is a problem my end and they just gave the Silverlight update suggestion.

Anyone had similar problems? Any ideas on what else to check or try?

Can you copy the exact error message? Google usually helps with that, I would try this:

Open the Run window winkey+r, (start menu, somewhere)(or search run) and type cmd.exe, click okay

type ipconfig /flushdns

That may help.

and maybe that will help.

I will do later when I am back home, but it is a Lovefilm error, rather than a windows/generic error. So I don't think it tells me what the actual problem is (for example, you get this error if your internet connection is too slow or drops). Here's a link http://www.lovefilm.com/help/dyn_faqs.html?faq_cat=watch_online&editorial_id=12783

Will try that later, thanks
