Strauss-Kahn Released After a Night in Jail

From the Times, apparently Strauss-Kahn, whom you may remember from that hub-bub last year in New York, visited an orgy or orgies involving hot and cold running prostitutes.

Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the financial power broker and former presidential hopeful whose political career was ruined last year after he was accused of attempted rape in New York, was released on Wednesday by police officials in the northern French city of Lille after a second day of questioning in an investigation into a prostitution ring accused of operating in France and Belgium.

A lawyer for Mr. Strauss-Kahn appeared to confirm that he had attended the events, saying that his client would not have been aware if the women who entertained him were prostitutes.

“He could easily not have known, because as you can imagine, at these kinds of parties you’re not always dressed, and I challenge you to distinguish a naked prostitute from any other naked woman. . . .”

Challenge ACCEPTED.

LOL.

That guy's got quite a sex drive.

So prostitution is illegal in France?

How was he to know they were prostitutes? A good looking, strapping man like DSK probably can't walk to the mailbox without some 20 year old propositioning him for sex.

Prostitution is not illegal in France. Pimping is. That's what DSK is being accused of.
Umm... no.
While prostitution is legal in France, the investigating magistrates are trying to determine whether the women were paid with funds the men might have embezzled. The magistrates seek to discover whether Mr. Strauss-Kahn might have known of any such payments.
Paying women for sex is legal in France. Stealing money to pay women for sex is not.

And STK is not even accused of embezzlement -- just of knowingly receiving services paid for with embezzled money.

Clearly, additional research is required.

Anyone know how we could conduct double-blind studies regarding the virtue of certain nude females, and whether or not it matters if they're paid with embezzled green?

Obviously, that's all American press.

Could not have been. Surely no one in the American media would admit to understanding a tip off in French or even spend any time in the hated country of France. They might become cowards, or socialists, or start liking escargot . . . or sumptin.
