StopSylviaBrowne - Email: An Ex-minister's "Reading By Christopher"

Very sad.

I also find it surprising that they would charge a minister for a reading. I guess nothing's for free with them.

They're despicable even as far as hucksters go!

Your point about the pressure to conform is well made. I suspect it generally applies to all religions. :(

The pressure to conform, to never speak out against Sylvia or disagree with anything she says is in direct opposition to the tenets of her own made-up religion. Take what you want and leave the rest? All paths lead to the other side, no matter what?

Sounds like they eat their own.

Wow, how very sad. Robert, please let that person know his/her story brought tears to my eyes and how proud I am that they came forward to share it. It takes a lot of courage, and every story like that helps so much and it is so important for people to come forward. Thanks RSL, and a great big thanks to the ex-minister, too.

This is exactly right.

There is a real threat from SB whenever someone speaks out of turn. I mean a genuine scare tactic that she holds over her staff. Thankfully now her ex-ministers and victims can speak out without the fear of being ignored. They've got a new home to come to, without fear or threat from this dreadful woman. The ex-ministers are actually throwing a punch back at her. Who's the loser now?

No, not the "Ex-Minister" who posts here. Another ex-minister.

Robert, have you ever thought of coming up with pseudonyms for each of the people who write to you but who (understandably) want to remain anonymous?

It seems to me that it would make it easier to write about these experiences. I.e. instead of saying "another Ex-Minister" you could say "Sheila" or whatever.

It might make follow up and summary articles a little easier to write and read. Just a thought.

As one of the "ex-ministers" who came forward, I'm really hoping that each of the "ex-ministers" who contact Robert will give him permission to use their name. I strongly believe that letters to Robert carry more credibility when the person does not remain anonymous.

Also, as a minister of Sylvia's organization, whether your name is published or not, believe me, they KNOW who wrote the letter so why not just be forthright in the first place. If more people who were once connected with SB and NS would stop hiding, her downfall would happen a lot quicker - my opinion.

There are those (ex-ministers) I know personally who have not shared their experiences who have a lot more damning evidence to SB's fraud than what's already been published. If they'd only come forward, SB and NS could be stopped completely - not just slowed down.

Amen.

Seeking Truth, I agree. I wish everyone would be more open. But even if they come forward anonymously, at least they are coming forward and that's better than not coming forward at all. I think the more of us who have come forward, the easier it will be for those who follow to do so openly.

I have chosen to remain anonymous on this forum but that is because I've enjoyed being free to express my opinions and share past experiences without having to worry that SB's office is auditing or keeping track of everything I say, while knowing who I am. You say they know who we all are anyway. I hope they are not entirely sure (at least about the forum), though I have no way of knowing what they do or don't know. This only applies to the forum, though. I agree there is plenty to identify us anyway through what we write for Robert to share, and though even anonymous helps, the more of us who come forward openly, the better.

Thanks to this ex-minister for coming forward. It's the very example of how the argument "what's the harm?" fails miserably, sadly made real in this woman's case. I hope she regains full mobility, if at all possible and wish her the best.

I want to comment on the courage of this woman and all the other people who have come forward on Robert's Web site. It takes considerable guts to admit to yourself and to the world that you have been fundamentally wrong about something, and these people have done so for the unselfish purpose of helping others to recover from the harm inflicted by this harridan, Sylvia Browne. My heart and my admiration go out to them. As Robert says, it's easy to criticize from the outside, but the truth is we all have our blind spots. Admitting we have them and learning to deal with them is what sets these people apart.

I feel bad. I honestly laughed out loud when I read that write-up. I'm not a good person :-(

Of course, I'm not laughing at the woman or her problems. I am laughing at the fact that she had a tumor at the base of her spine, and the moron told her she needed to FLOSS!!!!!!!!

Seriously, how blatently dumb is that? So, apparently either Chris is a blithering dingbat, or not psychic. I don't care which one you chose.

Yeah. I'm still anxiously awaiting RSL's part II article on SB's finances. Especially the claim that she "supports" the church!

I applaud your bravery!

I also applaud the bravery of the anonymous ex-ministers too. After all, this kind of anonymity is pretty transparent for people in their immediate life, I suspect.
ETA: I'm sure with the biographical details given in the letter (failed marriage and especially the medical condition), SB and her minions could probably figure out this person's identity.

From the letter in this article:
anonymous ex minister said:
I spent a lot of money for this reading which lasted all of 20-25-minutes and nothing was accurate. I asked about how many lives and my themes and when I spoke with my friend who was also a minister she was told the same things.

I would love to see even a paraphrase of this generic reading stuff. I think publishing it would lead many people who got the same "reading" to come forward. I bet there are many pat phrases and things both SB and Chris tell almost everyone in exchange for their big bucks.

What else can I say than many thanks to the ex-minister and Robert?

Not much, or at least, not much which has not already been said, including the anonymous/non-anonymous aspect.

Kudos to all the people who write to Robert Lancaster, whether they ask to remain anonymous or not. It's their choice.
